I dont know if theres a guide for this already, I was wondering if someone could explain what the letters on genes/mutations mean, and also the color, ive noticed theres a few different colors and the letters change, idk if it has to do with genes being recessive or dominant. I'd just like to know the basics lol

Each letter represents a different gene or mutation. A green trait, like (NA), is a carried trait, which means trait A is not visible on the pet but can be passed to offspring. A blue trait (AA) is a visible trait, and a purple trait (AB) is a visible trait A with a hidden trait B. This breeding guide goes into more detail!

If a pet is Untested you will only see the pet's Phenotype genetics, so the only the pet's visible traits will be listed, represented as two of the same letter in Blue

Once a pet is tested, it will show the Genotype genetics, of which there are the three variants
Green is Carried traits, a trait under the more dominant N (Nothing), so NA, NB.
The pet can either pass down N or the trait, at a 50/50 rate
N (Nothing) is the most dominant letter

Blue is Homozygous traits, traits with two of the same letter, eg, AA, BB
This means that that is the only trait the pet can possibly pass on, but it will pass it to offspring 100% guarantee

Purple is Heterozygous, called Hiddens. It is a dominant trait with a more recessive trait under it, eg, AB, DF
It is a 50/50 chance which trait will be inherited
With the exception of N, dominance proceeds down the alphabet, most dominant to least, A>B>C>D>Etc

The letters represent what trait it is, if you look in the generator.
so if you have, say, an Aeri that's G1 AG, A is Tips and G is Tribal Spiral
