Hi, I recently put a hatchling pet up for sale. I entered the number of the user that the pet was meant for, and I checked that number to make sure that I had it right. But I just found out that the pet was bought by someone else. How did this happen?

Can you provide details on the transaction? Which pet, who was it supposed to be for, who bought it, etc.

Although, unfortunately, pet sales are not tracked in the database so there isn't too much I can do. But it can't hurt to investigate.

We will be adding auction history for pets in the very near future.

As far as I know though, selling pets to specific users is working 100% as normal.

This is the pet.

This is the user that it was intended for, a new player who I recently referred.

And this is the player who bought the pet. As you can see, their ID number is totally different from that of my friend. And I know I checked that number. With a memory as prone to glitches as mine is sometimes, the double, and sometimes triple checking is instinctive.

The only thing that I can assume is when you clicked the button to put the pet for sale, it didn't post correctly and left the user id at 0; allowing anyone to purchase it.

The pet profile page is I think our oldest coded page and is desperately needing a revamp (and it will be very soon). Until it's revamped, all I can really suggest is that after you set the prices, click Manage pet and make sure that both the price and user ID are correct.

As far as this pet, if the intended buyer still wants it, then I would suggest PMing the actual buyer and trying to work something out.

I'm sorry that I can't be of more help in this situation.

I did after check. *paranoid woman here*

I just found out there was trouble with a second sale. The person it was meant for never got a notice, though she had gotten one for a previous pet that I sold her.

A notice? There aren't any notices sent when prices are made.

My friend saw a thing under Social that said she was being offered a sale, I mean. It's okay, even though the data was all in there when I checked, when I did it again she got the ... not-notice? She got the alert.

Sorry, not being a smart aleck. Kinda sick today and brain is lagging.

No, you're fine lol. I just am trying to figure out what the notice is.

Can you copy/paste what the notice said? Or take a screenshot? (or have your Friend since you said your Friend received it).

o.0. I find that I misunderstood, and she never got any alerts at all.

Can we chalk this up to a silly newbie mistake and pretend it never happened? Though the thing with the other pet did, and puzzles me. It must've been something I messed up somehow, though.

Sorry for all the trouble. And thanks for making a game that thus far is much more interesting than most I've tried.

It's no trouble, no worries. =)

It's just a situation where there isn't anything I can really do, unfortunately.

When the pet profiles are revamped, everything should function much better so situations like this won't happen - or at least will very rarely happen.
