So I saw that that the Valentine's Event: The week of love is starting soon. When do the holiday themed pets begin showing up in the battle areas? The same day the event starts (feb 10th) or at the start of the month?

They will show up in the Festival Zone once we open it up, which will be when the festival starts. :)
