I was wondering how I can use a genetic mutator on my starter pet. My pet dyes come up as options in its profile page but not the mutator.

Genetic Mutators can only be used on Tamed Pets unfortunately, and you can only ever use one per pet. Dyes can be used on any kind of pet any number of times.
Krin has said in the past that eventually things will be added for Starter Pets though, we just have to wait for them to come out. :)
