I'm not sure how feasible this is but there have been numerous threads on the forums that have personally affected me. I know the easy way is to just not read things, but curiosity wiped out the cat, so to speak. Of course there are the times when posts are snuck into other threads and I admittedly don't pay attention to who is posting as I read through the comments and then I get stuck with one of those.. 'man I wish I'd never started reading this' thoughts. Anyhow, I would love to see blocking individuals coinciding with blocking their forum posts so there there is zero possibility of communication.

Seconding. If I block someone, they should not be able to ping me, inbox me, anything. I do not wish to be aware of their existence after I hit that lovely button.

Like. I block them. and then they're able to ping me incessantly afterwards? ok

Like, at that point, depending on the severity, it's borderline harassment. In a recent event, after blocking and after politely telling them to please not contact me, they continued to ping, which made me quite uncomfortable. :(

Maybe, to add onto this, there's a warning over forum posts? Like instead of seeing their post, you see 'you've blocked this user, do you still want to read the post?" Then you click yes or no, and if you click yes, you can still see the post. That way if it's something you need to see, like an answer to a question, you are still able to while reciving a warning for things you don't want to see.

Just a thought; it's fine if you think otherwise :)

Oh yikes... yeah I am rather put off by the fact that these are not already features. : / I am routinely targeted and harassed by people so the fact that this is not already a thing has me feeling extremely unsafe, now.

Sylestia as a whole is a safe atmosphere. Rarely are people rude or mean to each other. I personally don't have issues with harassment. There are just certain people who upset me with things they say or do (that isn't meant towards anyone in particular when they say it) that privately bothers me and I would rather just not see it.

I would love a feature where blocking someone meant you couldn't see their forum posts.
When I block someone, I would prefer not to be exposed to anything that are saying, or for them to have the ability to reply to forum threads I post.

If a player is pinging you, you do have the option of blocking their pings. However, it is separate from blocking their PMs and IMs.

Recently, we did add in that blocked players will not show up in Region Chat for players who have them blocked.

Regarding hiding their Forum threads/posts, that's a bit more complicated because of how the Forums load. It would require some changes on the backend to cleanly implement such a feature. But I will keep/have kept it in mind for the future.

I've seen forums show the post of someone you blocked but the *content* of the post is hidden. Kind of like when a post gets moderated and it just turns into "the content of this post was deleted". Maybe that helps.

That would be pretty easy to implement, yea. Although I imagine a lot of players would prefer the content be entirely invisible to them. That was a common complaint after initially putting in our Region Chat hidden message feature.
