Hey!!
I glanced few a couple pages to make sure this hadn't already been suggested; but sorry if this is a repeat!
So, I've noticed that raids don't seem to have very much participation. (I've participated and placed top three having only killed a single enemy haha) Which does make sense, considering they're time consuming, offer poor prizes, and if one's in the Lost Grove, it's really not worth it to leave. Considering the previous, I thought I'd share a few ideas to revamp Raids.
1: Better Rewards
Raids offer sachels/badges, which are great. But it's not too big of an incentive. I believe I read that raids also have a slight chance of spawning four star sylestis, but I'm not sure that's accurate, as the post was dated. However, this isn't enough incentive more most players. So, maybe raids could offer monetery rewards (like based on how many enemies defeated; maybe 500 per?) or high rates of drops like avatar items or gear for their specific level. I feel this would attract more players to raids, as they gain something more than a small sachel with items they'll probably sell anyways.
2: Ability to Leave Zones for Raids
So, the whole thing with the Lost Grove (I believe the Orchard and Astryl's Vale too?) is that you can't leave mid-battle. Which I totally respect, considering it would be abused. However, if one isn't in a battle, leaving is possibly. However, it forces the player to start from scratch, and if they're at the opposite end of the map from starting point. . . it's highly unlikely they'll leave. Therefore, maybe there could be an addition to the banner such as 'Esior's Haven is requesting your help with a raid; click here to join' which would bring up the raid without leaving the Lost Grove. (I guess like how you could access Forums and your position in the Lost Grove would save?)
3: Add a Raid to the Astryl's Vale Zone
Most likely, this should occur in the Lost Grove, as it has the highest traffic. This would defiently have to be run differently, as Astryl's Vale allows the player to move around freely. I honestly don't have a specific thought on how this could be done, and this is probably the weakest of my suggestions. However, I wanted to put it out there.
Overall, I feel the Raid system (assuming it will carry over from Beta) could definently use some updating. Thanks for consideirng the above!! |
