Why are the legendary items in the festival shop so expensive? I've noticed a creep in unattainability for legendary avatar items over time on Sylestia. But it's just not fun when the items are too unobtainable. I've felt that on other pet/avatar websites over the years, and I had liked that it was not the case for Sylestia for years.
For the legendary avatar set in the festival shop you would need 12,800 frost tokens. At 400 ea. that's 5,120,000 gold. At 200 ea. that's 2,560,000 gold. Let's say that gold<-> diamond exchange rate is 2k per. That's 1280 to 2560 diamonds for the event avatar items or around $15-$20 a person to buy the set of 5 items. That's like double the price of the black Friday box sets. I just don't understand why these avatar items are becoming so excruciatingly hard to get. Is there a purpose for having items that only like 20 users on the site have? Can we just have diamond avatar items in the shop instead for premium users, and have the festival items feel like, well, a festival instead of a paywall or grind-away for 50 years wall?
Is there a chance this could be balanced better?
I've mentioned in the past that legendary recolor items are becoming too hard to get, but I feel like it's getting worse, so just resurfacing. I like a lot of things on Sylestia, but this has been driving me a bit nuts. T_T

For the Legendary Items specifically, the reason they are expensive from the Festival Shop is because they can also be obtained from Snow Wars. Since there will be copies obtained via Snow Wars, the Festival Shop additions were meant to be more of like a "backup" listing for players who need a specific item or two. The main source is intended to be Snow Wars. But I know not everyone adores Snow Wars, so I added them to the Festival Shop as a backup plan.
If they were just listed at normal prices in the Festival Shop, it'd water down and lessen the prize from Snow Wars.
Overall, prices do get a bit of a 'creep' over the years. This is to account for many things, such as real life inflation (we have never raised the price of Diamonds, but a dollar doesn't go as far in 2022 as it did in 2012), existing features awarding higher quantities of currencies, and new features added that also award currencies. It's a lot easier to come up with thousands of tokens in current Festivals as it was 5+ years ago.
Edit: Just to add, I focus a lot on the average sale price for tokens each Festival. They've hovered around 400 Gold for as long as I can remember. That's generally what I aim for and try to balance around.

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for the thorough reply. It was helpful. I think I just need to come to terms that I'm no longer rich on this site since my gold/dia worth has stayed the same since like 10 years ago RIP :')
