So in the past few weeks I have started to notice.. issues arising in region chat. Disagreements, begging, spamming, and general rudeness have seen to be on a rise. I know several users who are stepping away from Sylestia due to experiences they had in region chat.

As someone who has been on sylestia for five years and counting now I remember when I used to enjoy going into region chat and socializing with my friends. I don't know what exactly has happened recently but more often then not when I am in region chat there is always some sort of drama happening.

From spamming to general begging from many players I don't know when or how this behavior became the norm in Region Chat. I would like to be able to go to region chat and making conversation about how peoples days are going etc etc, not go to hear about how people just "have to have" this and that and just the nonstop petty fights that have been happening lately. I understand things will pop up now and then but this is becoming an issue on the daily.

I don't know what caused this shift in tone and energy in the community. I genuinely enjoy many people in this community but a handful are ruining it for most. I don't know what a good solution to these issues would be but I would like to bring attention to it and get other peoples input. I would just like to see Region Chat once again become the fun-loving community who all get along and don't have issues that crop up almost ever day.

Please feel free to share your insights on this issues as I don't believe I am the only one noticing it. If you have an idea for solutions *please* share them below. I love this community and I want to see a solution that can bring region chat back to the enjoyable place it once was.

*I would also like to note if you are going to speak on issues please don't publicly call people out! This is not a callout post about anyone and more just a post about the general energy that has exhibited itself in region chat as of late. I want to be actually able to discuss this and not just have a bunch of petty callout comments in the replies. Please try to actually have a discussion here.*

Maybe a way to block people so you don't see their posts?

Fully agree Lim - Region chat has always had issues flare up/arguments but specifically this past week or so it's been incredibly toxic. Minor disagreements have become full on harassment brigades and begging/spamming have gotten out of hand. I know we get a lot of newer players around fest time who don't always know the TOS rules, but in the cases I'm thinking of it's people who have been told time and time again what the rules are.
Beyond rule breaking it's also felt like people are taking personal beef into chat - it's felt a lot more hostile/rude in region lately, which really saddens me as I do like this community and enjoy chatting with people. I know several people who have begun avoiding chat lately due to this, and it's really upsetting to see that happening.

Yeah, we really need some kind of actual moderation. Maybe a timeout system like Twitch has?
