I like that idea. We've lost so many people it probably is the only real option anyway.
We could tweak the plot a little too if we chose.
Unless people liked the treasure hunt idea? I'm open to suggestions, is what I'm saying.

Well.. lets do this then! But I think a reboot is good, that way our characters don't stand around and look for the people who aren't going to show up.

Name: Samran Tanon (Sam for short)

Race: Since his wings aren't the same as the other faeries here, he is half fairy half human and arrived in Sylestia during the summer festival ^^

Jobs: Sam was part of the royal guard with his people but now is a sylestie tamer and breeder as well. He loves to travel and raise his hatchlings along the way c: He sucks at directions, though, and gets lost quite often.

Pets: So far, he only has one pet that fights and travels with him, his Lighira Aura and at the moment is currently raising a zolnixi hatchling that he bred. When sam was a little kid, he found Aura as a hatchling and the two have been inseparable ever since. When Sam slacks off, gets lost, or tries to pull pranks on other members of the guard, Aura would rather put him in place than join in.


Background: As I said before, Sam is a half-fairy who's people only appear during the summer festival or wherever the Lighira go (As catching at least one every summer is a custom to them or a rite of passage). Sam was bullied quite a bit for being different and would get into a lot of trouble as a kid but found solace in look after young sylesties, especially Aura. As he grew to me much older, however, he joined the royal guard. Despite that, he never felt truly accepted by his people and after following the Lighira one year (to the Sylestia summer festival location), he found more humans as well as other species of fairies and people and made a decision to pack away his guards outfit and explore more of his human side by studying these people.

Despite being somewhat carefree, he knows when to be serious when the time calls for it and is an excellent fighter. Despite wanting to be close to humans, he's too shy to actually interact with them and spends his time wandering throughout the lands, avoiding humans, or examining them from a distance. He's very loyal to those he is close with and will do anything to keep them safe.

Reboot is fine Treasure hunt is also fine though I'm also ok with plot like maybe going on a journey to save the land or to defeat a big bad or something. I'm cool with all. I will keep using the same 3 pets and same character anyway.

But do the same rules aplie? Only use pets you own, your acount name is your characters name or it has to be based on it, and the way your avatar looks will be how your character looks?

Or can we make the character look like anything as long as we only use items we own?

Same. I think it would be best to not do a total 'reboot' but just start fresh. Maybe change a few things too.

Some rule adjustments:
-You do not have to dress your avatar as your character, but I think posting a pic in here of your avatar, and thus, your character is still a good idea. Preferably it should be in things you actually own, though I probably am not going to be very strict on that; I mean, what am I gonna do, force you to wear it to prove you have it? Jeez. Even I think that sounds a little uptight.
-You still DO have to be a race found in Sylestia, though the enhanced folk (people/tribes who drank essences) is still a thing because dang it, there are too many cute furry style avatars out there to turn away, and it obviously exists since its a thing for the avatars anyway. Anyone have any further thoughts on this?
-You also still have to have a job that could actually be found in Sylestia. I don't care what; as long as it makes sense. EXCEPT- I don't want any priests or priestesses. Given what we learned in the latest part of the story, I don't think that's a thing that would be found. I'm trying to make this rule as spoiler free as possible, which is kind of hard. If anyone wants to argue this rule as far as the priest/priestess thing goes, please do it via mail so as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't hit that point in the story yet.
-No talking sylesties. I'm adamant on this. They don't talk. I mean, maybe to each other. Communication must be possible between species if you can make a team with different sylestie species in it. But between human and sylestie, no. Although... if a character was a vulnyx enhanced person; that is, a person who'd drank Vulnyx essences and therefore had vulnyx traits like ears and tail and maybe nose... could they talk to a vulnyx? What are your thoughts on this? Maybe they can't because they are still mostly human (or elf or fairy.)
-5 Sentences to a paragraph and one paragraph (minimum) to a post. No less than 4, and they have to be real sentences. I don't want novels, but I'd like to see people putting a little thought into it, into helping create a good story. Please. The other rules are basically, "this is a sylestia rp, keep it as sylestian as possible." This one is the only for real rule. You want to rp because there's a corner of you that likes to write, and finds it fun... so write!!!

Plot:
So. Back when I first did the plot, the idea was that they'd travel through Sylestia to reach the high mountains to find treasure based on a map my character found in her grandparents attic. The idea, (and I'm sharing this because keeping it secret wasn't working before) was that there was a riddle warning them of some hidden danger, and that danger was going to turn out to be a monster. And then they found the treasure which wasn't quite so big as my character was saying; some gold, a few weapons, a little armor, but then a second map and a note. The note (also written in ancient sylestian) is thanking the brave adventurer for following the map, they were worthy of this second treasure which was the greatest treasure of all. Power. A book of spells to make yourself powerful beyond measure, the book that King Desius used to make himself SO powerful that they had to break his soul into pieces and use magical seals to keep them separate. Its not far from where they are, and so they go to find it.
At this point, I was still kind of working it out- maybe its gone. Maybe someone was following them and takes the book and then they have to find the person and defeat them, because the last thing Sylestia needs is another evil and all powerful king. So the journey continues to find the person who took the book.
Adventures and fighting trolls and bandits and maybe a sea battle with pirates or something on the way. (Hey, there's a boat in game. If there's boats, there's pirates)
But if anyone else has more ideas, please I want to hear them. How can we liven things up?

And I have one small question about my character: She didn't have a real job in the older version. She was an adventurer/warrior and earned gold by helping villages and sending pets on quests. She travels and her income depends on where she is. She might take part time jobs like helping in a smitty or a bakery or something if there is nothing evil or dangerous she needs to defeat for the village or town or city.


I agree that people should own what their characters wear. And that we will just have to have faith they won't cheat and will stick to this rule.

Though if you own everything except maybe one smaller item you could ask the other players if it's ok that her/his avatar owns it?

Sylesties not talking human language is something I agree with almost 100%. I do believe that some humans can understand their sylestie just fine with just their verbal communication though. I like it if sylesties can do other human like things, like grin/smirk/role eyes and stuff like that. Just no human words. And that Sylesties do understand human language. Kinda like how pokemons also understand Human language but do not speak it. Well most of them anyway.

People being furries. My opinions differ on this. I am ok with people being furries, but not so much becouse they drank essence becouse that way almost everyone would do it becouse you gain abilities by it. I am more pro of it being an actual race of animal like humans and that all of them are the same race regardless if they have fox or cat or wolf etc. like tails/ears. Sylestia is not finnished yet, maybe such a specie will be introduced later.
I also am not fond of giving furries sylestie powers or giving them wings like pixies and fairies. If a character (furrie or human) has an abilitie like using fire or something it's a skill they learned or could learn and had nothing to do with race. Kinda like the force in star wars. Not everyone can wield it, but those that can acn be from different races and species. As for furries with wings. Cats and wolves etc. do not have wings. I think the only characters that should have wings should be either pixies/something to do with pixies or the wings must not be real wings. Like maybe technical wings that where made, or if your character can wield fire that they can make fire wings. Things like that. So with furries goes: They are just hairy versions of normal humans who have slightly better hearing/seeing/reflexes. But this does not mean they surpass humans in fighting or hunting becouse humans are great learners and adaptors.

I do believe that if you have a wish/abiltie for your character that isn't really clear if it's possible in sylestia or not that the player should ask the other players for permision and that we take a vote on if that abilty or other suggestion is ok.

I think it is better to make a new place where we post all the characters of the rp. Maybe in the section other fiction. There we can make a file that lines up all characters and their active sylestie party members so all players can quickly look them up whenever they want. It's easyer to find then inbetween all those comments.

That section would not be used to ask questions and stuff, only to post characters and maybe enemies they encounter. Maybe some information on what happend in the rp so far etc. Rp information.
