Sasha examined the vampire, letting out a sigh of relief. It wasn't.. him. Just a false alarm, a panicked judgement. She nodded curtly and finished off her coffee, studying the cup, trying her best to avoid anyone's gaze.

While walking over to the counter, Alyra thinks about what she will order. "hmm..." she's staring at the menu board when a kind-looking lady walks over to her and Layla. "What can I get you two?" The lady asks. Alyra reads the name tag, Betty. "hmm..." Alyra says again, still thinking, and finally decides on a piping hot hot chocolate with extra whipped cream. "I'm childish like that," she laughs after ordering, waiting for Layla to get something as well.

Layla

"Just some black tea for me, miss. Oh, and one for him too." She smiled, "Hot chocolate's quite nice too, but hot tea is so very nice. I used to say that my blood was more tea than water. You have a very pretty shop, Betty." She quickly took the two cups of tea from the lady and said thank you before heading back to the table.

Oliver

"She means she's hopelessly addicted." He watched as Betty gave Layla the two cups of tea, and quickly followed her. After exchanged a quick hello with the harpy, he looked at the paper on the table. "Are these the plans to your dorm room? Because you are hopeless at decorating, sis."

After accepting her boiling cup of hot cocoa, Alyra bows in thanks and goes over to sit back down, and laughs at Oliver's joke toward Layla, though she's not quite sure whether he was kidding or not. She draws up a quick sketch of her dorm layout after studying the blueprints for a while and then starts drawing in some items she plans to add, writing them down in a list to keep track. "So, let's see your decorating skills then?" She says to Oliver, partly expecting the unexpected that he will end up being better than her. I can't be put out of business this early in the year! she thinks in a bit of a panic

Layla

Layla looked up at him and smiled wide. "Yes, let us see your amazing decorating skills. And then I can laugh at you when you absolutely fail."

Oliver

He narrowed his eyes at his sister. "You don't know I would fail. But fine, since you insist, I shall try my best." He took Layla's notebook and pen, quickly drawing the layout of her dorm. He drew in the necessary furniture and some decorations he thought Layla would like, along with a place to put her violin. When he finished, he was quite proud of himself and showed it to the girls.

Sasha examined the drawing. She didn't know Layla that well, and just nodded. She went back up to the counter to get another coffee.
"One small latte please," Betty nodded, quickly making her coffee and handing it to her. Sasha pulled her remaining cash out of her pocket, and walked back to the table.

Alyra bursts out laughing immediately. "That looks like a cartoon drawn by a kid!" She chokes out through tears. "That's so bad!" When she realizes what she just said, she tries to take it back. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. That was really mean." Her eyes widen apologetically, and she adds. "Well, at least you have a pretty face," She offers, then tries the sink down in her seat in embarrassment. sheesh, why must I always make things 10x worse than they already were? She thinks, covering her face in her hands awkwardly and taking a sip of hot chocolate, trying to pretend that nothing happened.

Oliver

He looked back at the page. "Well, I suppose it isn't my best work, but the sentiment is there. At least I stuck to a design. Don't be embarrassed, it's not like youre wrong, on either account." He flashed a dazzling smile at Alyra.

Layla

After laughing, no wheezing, for a minute straight, Layla finally calmed down. "At- At least I can draw. And get over yourself, you aren't that attractive." She seemed more at ease with her brother than before. She realized that he had grown a bit after she had left. But he was still insufferable.

Sasha observed them with curious eyes. Was this how siblings behaved around each other? She thought back to when she had lived with the guild. They treated her kindly, distant and cold, but never like this. The only one who had ever joked around with her was... him. Ethan. She sucked in a breath, trying not to think about him. She examined Oliver's drawing.
"It's... not that bad...." She mumbled into her coffee.

Alyra giggles awkwardly. She's never really talked to a boy before, aside from her family members. All of the other ones just stared at her until she ran away. She'd never really had a friend before either, with most girls making it a point to glare at her and let her know how much they hated her, and others acting quite strange toward her.Layla isn't strange at all. she looks over to Sasha, I have friends now... Maybe this is a fresh start? I can't mess this up. To keep herself from anything strange, she tries drinking her hot cocoa very quickly, but ends up burning her tongue and having to stop drinking it. Are you kidding me?!? she thinks I litterally just told myself not to mess up! This is the opposite of not messing up!!!
