Her cells door and windows suddenly had large metal grates like garage doors slam down, blocking her sight and hopefully protecting her.

Hopefully they would protect her. But now she had no clue what was going on outside. She decided that the best course of action now would be to just sit on the bed a try and stay quiet. She did not want to draw attention to herself. Who knows what could be on the other side of those shutters.

Not even under the bed? Okay, she needed to calm down. Freaking out would not do her any good. She took a deep breathe in. Then she let it out. She was so much calmer now.

She covered her mouth as if that would help her make less noise. Whatever was making that roaring was something that she probably didn't want to meet.
