'Don't worry don't worry, by the time we are old and droopy your brother and my family would be even more old and droopy and would not have the time to punish me any longer. They could ground us until we are adolecent's though...'

Pine didn't look worried much though, he had a nice family that rarely grounded. He got one day punishments, like cleaning and stuff. Doing usefull things.

'Your brother a strickt guy?'

Meanwhile Fern was running around, yelling Pine where he went. He had entered the lonely parts of the forest, where sylesties didn't come anymore. Pine knew it was forbidden to go there, but knowing him he might have gotten there by accident. Then he smelled it. A zolnixi. Sadly not the one he was looking for. Au contraire, it was the last one he wanted to see.

But Pine was more importand.

Fern run up to the new zolnixi who seemed to be lookin for something as well.

'' Hey, new guy, you haven't seen a little green zolnixi by any chance did you?'
He asked trying to ask in a as nice as possible way. This was not the time to challange the male.

"No, not really. He can't afford to be since he needs me to help with the shop and I can't do that if I'm being punished some other way." she replied.

Kaz continued following the trail, not looking at Fern. "Sorry, can't help. I'm a bit busy, myself."

Fern got angry, did he just got kind of ignored? He was looking for his baby brother, that at least deserved a more sincere answer. Pine desereved a better answer.

Fern stopepd Kaz. 'Listen you, I know we don't like eachother, let's not pretend otherwise, but that attitude is uncalled for when I ask you nicely. And I didn't ASK for your help. I asked you if you have seen a little green zolnixi. Now try answering me again. I am looking for my little brother. He dissapeared. I am sucking it up to ask you about him so the least you can do is suck it up and answer me properly!'

Fern sounded angry and upset however if you where to take a closer look you could see tears starting to appear in Fern's eyes. Pine never had dissapeared like that before, he was a dreamer yes, but he never went far. Fern was worried sick and would do anything to find him. He was also shaking a bit.

Kaz grew irritated with Fern.

"Get out of my way." he warned.

Had it been any other situation, had Glitch stayed on the path, he would've helped but not now. His sister was lost in a place she didn't know and for him, that took priority over everything else.

He'd lost her once before.

They were exploring a cave and she strayed from his side. The cave had many traps and dead ends, not to mention the creatures within were the most vicious you could find.
By the time he found her two days had passed. She was badly injured and unconscious but alive, when she woke up, however, she had no memory of the incident but she did develop a fear of caves.

Kaz swore to never let anything like that happen again but he had to be smart. Glitch was very strong-headed and he feared if he was too restraining then she'd become angry and run off without telling him where she went.

There were so many places for a young Zolnixi to get injured... or worse.

He glared at Fern, hoping that he'd move. This was no time for a fight.

(Glitch's cave-phobia explained! BOOM!
This didn't turn out like I thought it would when I started writing. Kaz reacted quite a bit darker than my first thought.)

Fern groweld.

'Thats it! What is so importand to ignore a little boy that could be in trouble you big selfcentered ass!! If you are in a pinch you could just tell me like I tell you! OH no wait stupid me, your mister high and mighty we don't share stuff with others, don't ask for help and we definitly don't make time to tell a concerned brother if he did or did not see his baby brother! '

He jumped infront of Kaz. 'Fine, you don't want to even dignify my question about a lost little boy withoud an answer. I don't know what happend in your life to turn you in such an selfish emo, but I am not putting up with it. I am not trying to pick a fight. I actually was nice to you you big ass. All I asked if you saw my brother. He might be dying out there, and you won't even bother!? He doesn't deserve that crap from you and neither do I. '

Fern moved aside. 'You know what? Be that way, keep acting like a jerk when people actually bother asking you anything. You'll end up very lonely. That is Probably why you are traveling all the time. You never stick around to make friends do you? That poor girl. She deserves better than that, better then you.'

Fern spat his direction. Disgusted by his attitude. It was obvious he was scared for his brother. And this guy didn't even bother answering. Sure maybe this guy had problems of his own. He coudl still give an answer, and he could ask him in return. There was nothing that justified this behaviour. But Fern really wasn't looking for a fight. Not now. He would show him later though. Once Pine was safe.

Fern turend around to start looking again. He casts one last look behind. 'You might want to consider changing your ways around this place or you'll be send packing before the new moon rises. This is a forest where everybody looks out for everybody. We care for eachother. And if you can't, then get the hell out. Though I would feel bad for that girl of yours. She would fit in just fine. To bad she is stuck with you.'

Fern moved away from Kaz, starting to run again. But before he was completly out of hearing he turned around one last time. His eyes had turned red by the salt of the tears that he struggeld to keep down.

'Welkom to the forrest. I hope you will enjoy your stay. '

Fern said the last sentence in mock generousity. Then he ran off, and before you could say gone, he was gone leaving only pawprints behind.

While running he kept yelling for Pine. Then he smelled it. A nasty smell. He run towards that smell and found something interesting. A vorkid was crushed under a rock. Well how about that. Sniffing some more he smelled something else.....Pine. Then he saw red on the ground. Blood, it was only a little but still blood. It was pine's. Oh no. Fern started running again, in the direction of the smell, hoping Pine would be ok.

'Please be ok little brother, please be ok.'

Pine was having fun With Glitch. She was nice and funny. Her scarf was ruined because of his paw though, he felt kinda bad.
'' Where did you get that scarf? Where your parents bandana zolnixi?'

(Lol whoeps a big post, Fern is not acting rational, though his thinking is not wrong, So I made him say some angry things, because well he was angry, building up the drama mwuahahaha, Before they become friends Fern will really loath Kaz, thinking of him as selfish and arrogant. Later on he will see the side of Kaz, Kaz is not showing yet. But to be fair to Fern, Kaz did act jerky when a guy asks in almost tears if they have seen their baby brother. Fern thinks it isn't fair to Pine that Kaz acts like that. And he also feels bad for Glitch, he likes Glitch, but he can see this guy moving from one place to another, not setteling anywhere because he is a coward and wants to stay on the move, even at the cost of his little girl that would be best suited to be raised among other hatchlings.

This is all Fern, not me btw, I know Kaz will be awesome and so will Fern, but this is how he sees things now. Which is actually nice because he looks out for a girl he doesn't know. lol)

Kaz ignored Fern's harsh words, he usually got angry reactions from others. He knew he often came off looking like a jerk but this was the first time someone had spoken up about it to his face.

~Interesting.~ He thought.

He heard something further in the forest and headed toward it.

Glitch couldn't give Pine a proper answer to his question. "I don't know, I can't remember my parents. I found this piece of material a while ago. I was jealous of my brother's bandana so I use this as one instead."

'That is a shame.' Pine said sadly. 'I have a great mom and dad, thoug Fern lost his mom too. But my mom also is nice him. You should come over soon. My dad is really cool, and my mom makes the best food in all of Sylestia!

The he heard something in the distance. 'Pine!'

Pine stopped. 'Glitch wait, I think I hear my brother.'

Then he heard it again. 'Pine!'

Pine moved a bit off Glitch. 'Fern! Over here!'

Fern heard him, his little brother oh thank god.

He rushed towards him as fast as he could.

When he saw his brother he charged at him and nuzzeld and licked his face.
'Thank god your alrigth, We where so worried about you. What the hell happend, how did you get here?'

He only now noticed the little girl. 'Oh hello there uh Glitch was it?'

Pine looked at his brother. 'Sorry Fern, is it OK if I tell you back home?'

Fern nodded, and gave Glitch another look. He recalled Kaz looking for something as well. Well it seems he now knew what Kaz was looking for. Now he was even madder at the guy. If he lost his little sister he could at least ask him if he had seen her right? No of course not, god forbid he would ask a person's help. Self conceited weirdo.

Now what should he do? Maybe he should take Glitch back home with him as well, leave Kaz looking, that would teach him. ...No Fern, that is horrible! You can't do something like that! He told himself. This Kaz might be an******be he was still a brother, and this Girl was importand to him. Fern signed.

'Little girl, I know a person who is very worried about you, So I am going to bring you back to him ok?'

He moved to Pine and Glitch, and picked them both up in their neks. Then he started running, in a slower speed the before but still faster then the little ones could have run, back to where he met Kaz, he should be close.

After a little running he saw Kaz his silhouet in the distance. He slowed down until he had a clear view. He released the young ones.

'Hey grumpy! Lost something? This one belongs with you doesn't she?'


(Just a little note: I don't think that what Fern told him should be something he gets all the time. And I also think It should do Kaz at least something because others never told him before. It could be a reason why he decides to stay this time, thinking that despite the fact he doesn't like Fern, he is right about Glitch deserving to grow up in a home with friends. I think Fern should have been one of the first to say that in his face, most sylesties ignoring, shunning or just glaring at him, but Fern speaks up. It could be their first step towards friendship. Fern being the first that dares to speak up to him, and likewise Kaz being the first to challenge and be a match for Fern. They help eachother grow up some. Kaz gets warmer, opens up and starts relying on others, Fern becomes lesser quick to judge, more patient and more friendly to those he doesn't agree with. )

Glitch kept her head down, looking guilty and walked over to her brother. "I'm sorry, Kaz. I didn't mean to go off the path, I sware. It was an accident."

Kaz put a reassuring paw over her and pulled her close to him. "I believe you, just don't do it again."

He turned to Fern and stared for a moment, not sure of what to say. Even though Kaz was a total jerk to him he still brought his sister back. They didn't often run into kind sylesties.

"Uh, thanks." he muttered.

Glitch sensed that her brother was uncomfortable and yawned. "Can we go home, please?"

Kaz nodded and as they turned to leave Glitch shouted behind them. "Bye, Pine, I hope your paw gets better soon."

Fern looked at Kaz.

'Yeah, don't mentions it.'

He looked at Glitch.
'Take care little one.'

He picked up Pine again. Pine winced because of his injured paw.

'Glitch! You should come visit soon ok?' Pine aksed quikly, wanting to see his new friend again soon.
