Whisper shook her head. "No! As long as we don't meet a preditor on the way where fine. Same with that zolnixi female, Kage."

Whisper shivered slitchy as she spoke. "Kage is a zolnixi, but she lives everywhere and zolnixies are starting to say she is a preditor in disguise!"

'She does not sound to nice... What are these predators exactly. Are they vorkids?' Gully asked wondering.


(Sure once the party crosses the river they will come across him, but they are not crossing yet, they are going back to the edge to see if they can get back out or not at this point, after they have their answer they will go back to river/cross it and find Shadow )

Whisper nodded when she said Kage wasn't nice. "No one knows what preditors look like, because everything around you will become covered up in a thick black fog. That happens if a preditor is close. And if you know you are it's prey you hear a very werid sound. Like some gurgling but choking at the same time...we don't know where they come from...we don't know what they are. But they are the only threat to the forest...I'm always scare when I go in the forest that I might meet one..."

Gully wasn't sure what to do with that information. All she knew was that she did not feel like meeting one.


Meanwhile the party had arrived at the borders again, and they where able to walk out.

'Well it seems the problem is behind the river then.'

Quickly they turned around and walked back to the river. Now that they knew the nixi's got trapped behind the river it was importend to find out if the vorkids crossed the river as well. If yes they knew the way out. If no then they only lived in the forest parts surrounding the forest island.

After some hours they reached the river again. One of the zolnixi in the party was a water mage and was able to make a current stream that would push all the zolnixi to the other side. The Zolnixi still had to swim but only lightly because the stream pushed them foreward. They all crossed the river pretty easy.

Black did a face count to see if everybody was safe and sound across. They where.

'Ok everyone, time to move on, keep your eyes and ears open and stay close to eachother. Look for clues or signs that can help us figure out this place or to find our missing friends.'


And the party started to walk again.

Shadow Night kept of running. His paws now hurt and thorns had gone in a few places. Under his fur his face was scratched and brused from twigs and crashing into trees. The end of his tail was bleeding from being bashed about so much. "Help! Someone! Help me!" He shouted once again. Will anyone hear him? Will the preditor ever stop chasing him?

Whisper carried on walking till they started to hear quite a lot of zolnixies. "Almost there, Tribe's Wife!"

Shax, the blue tri tails stopped and moved his ears. His hearing was above average in Zolnixi.

Black noticed. 'What is it?'

Shax looked worried. 'Someone is callin for help...in that direction.' Shax said pointing left.

Black turned around. 'Ok everyone, this might be our first find, let's go!'

Everyone rushed to the direction Shax heard the noise comming from. The closer they got the better everybody heard it.

Shax ran next to Black. 'There is something else I hear and It ain't pretty. This is no natural sound. Better be prepared for a fight Black. An unknown enemie is about to appear. ''

Black grinned. 'Shax my friend, those are the fights I specialize in.' Shax rolled his eyes. 'Let's hope the rest is too.'

Once they reached the area of the sound they saw something shocking. A smoke like creature was harming a young looking nixi.

Black did not need to tell everyone to snap out of it. They did so on their own, all ready in battle mode waiting for Black to call it. Black nodded. 'Be catious everyone, we don't know what it can do, try to scare it off first. If it attacks us, go all out!'

Topaz smiled. 'All right spooky smokey thing, lets see how well you handle fire!'Topaz was an exceptional fire mage. She summend her flames and cast them to the monster. A few other zolnixi's who also could cast fire helped her. Tenshi who was known for his exceptional strength charged into the smoke monster area while it was distracted by the fire and grabbed the boy, throwing him on his back and running back to the group. Black meanwhile had formed the best formations with his nixi's. A unbreakable line up was formed. All Zolnixi's ready to strike if the monster did not leave. (ps I know they are predators but they don't know that yet so they call it monster for now)

Black did not know if that thing could understand them, or if it could see them. Still he looked it in the face... well for as much as it could have one. It was like Black was trying to communicate with it. Like he was trying to say: We do not need to fight. If you will charge we will not run and watch, we will fight back. You might win you might lose. Walk away and we both win today. It was his body language that did not show fear or prey behavior. But it neither showed predator or agressor. He was calm.

( I have no idea how your smoke monster works so I am just making things up as it goes. Maybe you should give me some info on it in pm so I know what it is. If it's based on the one from lost I would like to request we alter it a little. This is a different story then Lost after all. Does it think like wild animal or more like human or in this case zolnixi. Does it work on instincts or does it think? Can it(they if there are more ) talk and reproduce? Does it live in groups. Do they have faces/voices? Etc.)

The preditor turned it's gaze to the group of zolnixies. The gurgling, choking sound was joined in with a coughing and a angry wheezing.

Shadow Night's vision came back. Good, he thought, it's left me and...then he heard it. It's switched prey! Shadow Night looked at the zolnixies around him. He remebered hearing one say. "Let's see how you handle fire" or something like that. Shadow Night started shouting. "Y-you idiots! why did you attack a preditor! don't you know they leave the single prey alone if it's with a group?! Unless you attack it?! You IDIOTS! iT'S GONNA It's gonna kill everything living it sees now! Oh! I never met my family now! Why did you idiots ATTACK it?!" Shadow Night was scared, angry and worried. These stupid zolnixies attacked a preditor! We are all doomed!

The preditor looked at the black one looking at it. A long whispy tentrile stretched towards him. It reached for his head.

Most of the Zolnixi's ignored the boy, but not White Tenshi. The one who carried this new guy away. Annoyed the white one glared at the woonded nixi.

'Oh yeah genius? Who was the one screaming help me. (He says help me in a mocking tone) If it wasn't for us you'd be dead already so I want to hear no complaints from you. And in case you did not notice though guy we also did not attack it, we distracted it so I could get you away from it. The fire is around it, not on it.. Tsch Ungratefull ******. We should have left you to die. Troublesome guy. '

Topaz heard what Tenshi said. 'Tenshi! Don't say such things. You know Black will be upset with you.'

Tenshi turned his head away from the ungratefull one and turned back to the monster. 'Hmpf, I'd rather fight this thing anyway. If we defeat one we will know how to handle the other ones later on.'

Black had no intention of fighting this thing right now though. He would if he had to, but he preferd to learn more about them first. He noticed something moving towards his head.

Warry he let it, it did not seem like a hostile movement. Still he payd very close attention to it. The other zolnixi did nothing and waited for the thing to reach Black. Tenshi was not happy with that. Black was the only guy he liked and dit not feel like lozing him. Shax however made sure Tenshi stayed put. 'No lad, calm yourself. I understand how you feel but Black knows what he is doing. He is calm, we should stay calm too.'

Topaz was holding one of her ears. When the new guy was yelling he was doing it kinda close to her ear. It was making this annoying beeping sound now. 'It would be easyer to stay calm if new guy didn't panic so much though. He new guy, could you try to calm down? I'll give you a cookie.'

Shax sushed Topaz. 'Leave the lad alone, he nearly died, no everybody shut up, the thing has reached black.''

Black felt it touch him on the head lightly.
