Alessa dropped her bag on her dorm room floor, then remembered she had forgotten one more bag. She ran back down the stairs and when she opened the door to the outside of Scorchwood High, she shifted into a wolf and ran back to Tranquil Homes. She tasted the air and scented a harpy, but she shrugged it off. It's a supernatural town, Alessa! Of course there'll be harpies! She scolded herself silently. She padded over to where she had hid her belongings and instead of finding her stuff, she found a harpy leaning on one of the houses. Alessa scented fear radiating off the girl. She tilted her wolf head, examining the harpy girl.

"Did I say something wrong?" Layla quickly decided that now was not a good time to look back on the events of today. "How about I go drop off my stuff in my room, and then we could go to the cafe. We might even have enough time to walk around the town, perhaps. I haven't had much time to look around. It should take me only a minute to drop off my bags, at most."

Sasha opened her eyes and was met with the sight of a shifter girl staring at her.
"W-who are you?" Her eyes narrowed. "What do you want?"
Shifters couldn't be trusted. Not after what had happened last time she had befriended one...

"Oh, no, sorry about that." Alyra closes her eyes and tries to focus up. Her habit of spacing out is not going to work out so well for her in a public school. "Sometimes I just get distracted and space out thinking about random stuff." "I would love to go to the cafe' with you though. First, let's unpack out things though, school starts tomorrow and I will not let myself, or you, go unprepared on the first day!" "I'll need to map out my house so that i can go to the market later to pick up some paint and furniture. Can you believe the only furniture they gave us was a bed? Or at least that's all I got." she says in a huff, and then spaces out for a second about having the house of her dreams and randomly asks "What's your favorite color?"

"I understand spacing out, sometimes you just need some time to think. Ah, yes, good point. I have much to unpack already. I haven't actually seen my dorm room yet, but I assume the furniture wouldn't change between rooms. I suppose my favorite color is a light lavender, why do you ask?" She was confused for a second, before hastily adding, "What's your favorite color?"

"I was just wondering because if I were to break into your room and decorate it for you, like Santa Claus leaving presents but instead of presents it's furniture and wallpapers, then I would know some things that you like." Alyra pauses and smiles for a while, purposely trying to seem slightly creepy for comedic reasons. When she decides that she has creeped Layla out enough, she corrects herself, laughing "I'm just kidding," "I wouldn't break in, I would ask first." "Maybe when we go to the cafe' we can talk about how we will decorate our houses?" she suggests, hoping that she didn't come across as too weird. "oh, my favorite color is royal purple. It's just so majestic and beautiful," she swoons,

Alessa watched the harpy with interest. She shifted back into her human form. "Sorry, I was...er...looking for something."she said, not entirely lying. Alessa sighed, knowing she didn't convince the girl.

"You have a very strange sense of humor, Alyra. I suppose that would be a good topic of conversation however. I shall file that in the back of my mind for later. Royal purple is indeed a very beautiful color. Did you know that when originally making royal purple, dye-makers had to crush the shells of a species of sea snail, extract its purple mucus and then expose it to the sun for a specific period. And many blues were made using the lapis lazuli gemstone, making blue very expensive so if someone wore blue clothes it was a point to show their high social standing. That's why royal blue and purple exist, because the process of making the dyes were so hard and costly, only kings could afford them." Layla smiled, obviously very eager to show her knowledge. It's a wonder how I still remember that fact, but it's come in handy today.

Sasha regarded the shifter girl coldly.
"Well I don't have it."
She flew off, her feathered wings cutting through the sky.

Alessa glared at the harpy girl, who was flying away. She walked around the houses, trying to find what she was looking for. She shifted back into her wolf form when a group of people came walking over.
