Pine was about to help when suddenly Glitch was attacked by white sticky stuff.

Another sticky white string was comming his way but he was able to dodge it.

'What's going on, who are you!'


Slowly the vorkid came out laughing.

'Oh look one got away, no worries, one caught, the second will be mine before the end of the day.'

"Run away, Pine! Don't let it get you!" Glitch screamed as she struggled to free herself from the vorkid's web.

"Alrighty, it's done." Kaz had finished unpacking the cart into the tiny house. Even with the limited room, there was still plenty of empty space to be filled. Well, if Glitch liked it here they'd surely get more things.

Locking the door behind him, he set out to find his dear sister. And perhaps he'd bump into his new "friend" along the way. Kaz was wondering if he'd get that race he wanted earlier that day.

Pine was young but not a fool, he knew if he ran the vorkid would eat nice Glitch.

He couldn't let that happen.

So instead of running away he ran towards the vorkid.

The vorkid was not especting that and reacted to late because of that. Pine bit into one of the vorkids legs.

'Ahhhggg!! It yelled.'

Pine then ran way knowing the angry vorkid would now follow him.

He was scared very scared but he would not leave glitch.

Don't worry Glitch I will save you. Pine was thinking.

When the vorkid stopped yelling he was angry. Very angry how dare that Hatchling!

The Vorkid gave chase after little Pine forgetting about Glitch for now.

Black and Fern came back home.

Black walked over to his mate and nuzzeld her. 'Hello dear, (bit teasing tone) we have 2 new youngers inf the forrest. One to give Fern a decent run for his gold his new bestest friend.'

Fern snorted at that but Black went on.
'And the cutest litle girl you have ever seen who is about Pine's age.'

Fern was looking around for Pine.

'Talking about Pine, Say mom, where Is he? Wasn't he inside?'

Glitch managed to break away from the tree as Pine led the vorkid away. She lost sight of them but could still hear the vorkid's angry hisses.
Her movement was now slowed by the web but she tried to follow as fast as she could, not wanting the young male to be hurt because of her.

Celesta looked worried. "He wanted to play outside. You didn't see him?" she rushed outside calling Pine's name but didn't get a response.

"Oh, that boy, I told him to stay close! Black, what if he's gotten lost? Or hurt? Or... or WORSE!?!?" she grew panicked at the thought of her youngest in danger.

Meanwhile, Kaz had come to the little path Glitch turned onto and noticed her paw-prints in the dirt. He sighed, at least the forest floor was impressionable, her trail should be easy to follow.

Pine was running a as fast as he could be the vorkid was catching up to him.

What could he do?

He looked around desperate for something to help him, and then he did! Over there right ahead was a big rock, it looked like it was about to fall, it was his best shot.

Running to the rock he stopped and turned around, pretending to be trapped he started growling.


The vorkid finally trapped the little thing. Oh how he would enjoy eating this one. Look at that, growling ahh how cute.

'All alone and trapped, poor little hatchling.' It laughed as it charged to Pine.

In the last moment Pine jumped underneath the vorkid, being small enough to do that. The vorkid slammed into the rock.

The rock started shaking. The vorkid turned around pissed.'I had about enough of you!!'

The vorkid was charging at Pine again, Pine froze to the ground knowing running would not be fast enough this time.

Before the vorkid could reach him, the rock fell right on top of him and squashed him.

Pine released a breath he didn't know he held.

Happy it was over but a but shaken he wanted to go back to Glitch. But when he started to walk his front left paw gave way and he fell. His paw hurt. Looking around he saw a piece of that rock was very close to him, It must have fallen on his tiny paw. The adrinale prevented him from feeling it before.

'Oh no, now I can't walk.' He tried walking on 3 legs but that didn't go very well, falling after avery third step.

"Pine!"

Glitch spotted him limping toward her and hurried over to help. "What happened? The vorkid didn't bite you, did it? Please tell me it didn't bite you." she asked, worried.

The time spent travelling with her brother had taught her that vorkid venom was extremely dangerous.

Without waiting for an answer, she took off her bandana and started wrapping up the injured paw.

(Glitch doesn't have her scarf yet right? Cause Pine will make it or that is what I remember reading at one point)

'No I wasn't bitten, one of the rocks fell on my paw.'

'But do you see that! The vorkid is down, I did that! Uh I mean the rocks but with my help.'

Pine smiled proudly. 'How are you, uh Glitch was it? Your fine 2 right?'

(That was another thing Fire and I thought up. That Glitch already had a bandana but lost it so Pine made her a new one to replace it. Also, I wrote about her grabbing it just before she left her new house.)

Glitch sighed with relief. "Yeah, I'm okay. A bit sticky, though... Yuck!" she looked over and saw a large rock with spindly legs poking from under it.

"It's so weird. This is the first time anyone but my brother has protected me from a vorkid."

Pine grinned.

'This is the first time I protected somebody.'

"Yeah and look what happened! Now we're lost and you're hurt!" Glitch felt bad about yelling at him so she added. "But thanks, though."
