He looked over. *none, I think.* he said as Moonlight kept flying away from the arena. Soon, it was out of sight.

( ... they can make up for it later? i'm sure a dragon and an tiny night-light will be useful to someone out there :^ )
Towering over the clouds isn't a new perspective for Alec. Every avid reader has a head full of inked scenes, and every avid Reader has experience living through hundreds, if not thousands. These clouds are a pale white and cool to the touch, with a round, fluffy appearance that suggests a more satisfying sensation than she's received.
Unsatisfying seems to be a fairly accurate conclusion of her time spent here so far, with what could've been an interesting creature shaping up to be nothing more than an over-advertised enemy. Invisibility and flight were an intriguing mix that drew her attention, a luxury seldom given, but the drake's show was hardly interesting enough to warrant a binding. Up to date, Alec has only made three -- a fraction of most Readers, but her father passed on the adage of "less is more" -- so far, though she supposes that Gwyneth makes four.
Said moth chimes in to add that she'd shine in any lineup, and Alec chuffs in amused agreement.
Now that she's feeling a little more settled, she asks, "I suppose this would be a good time for introductions, now that we're out. How did you meet Moonlight?"

It's probably a bad sign that Vogt's admission doesn't faze Alec. Still, she knows enough to read the emotion behind his hesitance and says, "You two seem thick as thieves now, so I'm sure Moonlight's forgiven you."
Here she pauses, considering what to say, and adds, "I'm curious as to how long that took, though." She and her father have had quite different experiences with their creatures, and another example would help with finding which one is the norm.

he chuckled. *oh, hes done more than forgiven me. hes saved my lofe multiple times, and ive done the same for him. hes my best freind. asn it took time for us to bond, mainoy with me helping him recover from his, you know, being knowcked ojt of the sky. wes care for each other.* he smiled fondly at his dragon.
Moonligt looked up at him and seemed to smile back.
Vogt then asked, *alright, i tld you my stry. you tell me yours. how did you meet the glowing bug, and what is a Reader?*
(sorry the wording is awful, autocorrect is glitching out and im too lazy to fix)

(No worries, I can still read everything, so I don't mind.)
Alec's lip quirk upward at the story. It's quite quaint and certainly more heartwarming than her father's tales.
"Well, the oldest Readers own large, spiraling libraries that you need guides to navigate. The books there are special, gates between worlds," she starts, letting her eyes flicker shut as she reminisces. Ah, she hopes that she can return soon, her father must be worried. "Those worlds hold a variety of creatures. Gwyneth is one of them, who I similarly met through a disagreement."
Given that we're no longer fighting, do you think that you could convince Vogt to not refer to me as a bug? The Watcher seems to be a mix of amused and mildly annoyed.
"She also prefers to be referred to as a Watcher, or a moth if we're trying to blend in with our surroundings."

Vogt blinked in suprise. *you can understand. . . It? Him? Her? They or them?* he said, suprised.

"Her is fine, or it." The absurdity of their conversation prompts a quiet chuff from Alec as Moonlight soars over land relegated to a blur of browns and greens. Pronouns, when they've quite likely woken in another realm. Imagine that.
"And, yes, I can understand her. I'm surprised you can't understand Moonlight; you two certainly made it seem that way back in the arena."
The Reader falls silent, evaluating how much information she wants to share with the other. "I can borrow her powers as well," she offers, eyes glinting with a faint curiosity as they examine Vogt, "In addition to assuming her form." It's something that takes a bit more time to use though, and she and Gwyneth haven't been together long enough for that.

He looked over in shock. *. . . I dont think Moonlight and I can do that. And I can technically understand him. I know what he means when were together and he wants something. But communicating? Like, speaking? We cant do that.*

Alec hums her agreement, a nonchalant response to Vogt's realization. Sky-breaking revelation it may be to him, but this has been her normal for almost two decades.
Her eyes catch on a smudge on the skyline, and she asks, "How would you feel about touching down in a city? We could use some help to reorientate ourselves, and they seem to have hot food and a shower if nothing else." After all, she can see small puffs of smoke rising from the town.
