"I guess?" Riley shrugs. "Even though I know what it means I still don't quite understand it. It makes much more sense to leave ship as in boat."

He nodded in agreement. "Now, that would make simple sense."

"I disown you." Austyn jokes to the two of them.
"How rude. I feel very abandoned." Riley says monotonously. Austyn pats Riley's head.

"Disowning is a very serious topic, often it means the abandonment of eggs before their hatchings." Shade said. "For example, my brother was 'disowned'. But he is still here today. Somehow."

"If your brother can survive disownment, then I'm sure you two will do just fine without me." Austyn says.
"We would." Riley agrees, before ignoring Austyn and turning to Shade, tensing a tiny bit when Austyn wasn't in his line of sight any more. "How did your brother continue after disownment?"

Shade leaned a little to look at Riley. "He doesn't tell anyone, we just know he somehow was able to survive on his own and make it to the human realm. He came to us from the human realm at the age fourteen, he seemed healthy and fine."

"That's cool. May I ask why he was disowned?" Riley asks.

"Because, the caretakers believed he didn't have a chance to make it out of his egg. Or at least Lavender said so."

"Oh... That's kinda sad. Personally if I had an egg, I would do the best I could to help it hatch but maybe that's just because I'm a human and I know l nothing about the traditions and customs of dragons." Riley says.

"You would be doing the correct thing, no matter what the dragons would think. Our ways are old, and... very barbaric." He shook his head a bit. "I used to come and watch you humans to see how you work things, how we could change to make things better."
