Sasha darted back into her room and grabbed her suitcase. She rummaged through it until she found what she was looking for. The book.
Sasha held the old, well worn book to her chest. She breathed in its scent and smiled as she read the cover.
The Aspiring Swordsman's Guide to Weaponry.
She flipped the yellowed pages, her fingers gracing the pictures of swords and knives. She sighed again and dropped the book. She needed to stop. She needed to forget her past.

(ooh, got some backstory unraveling I see Frostfall? i'm like mcdonalds, mclovin' it lol)

"ah, I see." after a bit of uncomfortable silence, Alyra starts fidgeting with the fabrics of her skirt and humming a little tune quietly. Eventually, they reach the first floor and Alyra sees someone running across the hallway with one of her bags. Her jaw drops in shock. Not only is someone stealing her bag, but also, that bag weighs almost 200 pounds! "Someone's stealing my bag!" Alyra informs Alessa before shifting into her fox form to chase after the culprit at lightning speed

Layla adjusted her cloak while walking through the dorm hall, holding herself high. If she looked like she was confident about this situation, why would anyone think otherwise? But her nervous habits still managed to fall through. Clutching her books to her chest as if they might grow legs and run away at any moment. Glancing around the hall to make as many observations about the current situation as she could. In reality, she was likely fooling no one, but she might as well try. A commotion had broken out as someone started running with some bags, and a fox was chasing after them, and briefly thought that she shouldn't get involved. If she gets involved, she would be noticed. But her good nature won out and she used her super speed to catch up to the thief.

Upon seeing someone else chasing after the thief who stole her bag, Alyra runs even faster. what if they're working together? What if that person wants to steal my bag too! i've got Louis and Prada in there! She thinks, and then pounces on the thief and bites his arm, then lets go and shifts back to her human form, exhausted. "Who are you?!" she asks, trying to be threatening, but failing with how weak she sounds with such a high-pitched voice. "I have a black belt!" she lies, remembering getting kicked out of her karate class in middle school and cringing. She glares at the thief but he just laughs, snaps his fingers, and disappears out of thin air. at least he left my bag behind. she furrows her eyebrows in anger, and then returns to her normal expression to go speak to the person who chased after the mysterious thief. She decides to assume the best and says, "Hello, thank you for trying to help me," she pants, still out of breath from the case. "what's your name?"

"I'm Layla Rose, so sorry for not stopping him better. I didn't know what to do once I caught him, haha." She laughed nervously, rubbing her forearm as more and more people crowded around her. This truly felt like one of her parents parties, but without the escape. She almost jumped when she heard a guy ask what was going on. He obviously was some sort of leader, as the entire hall fell almost silent. "Oh, uh, I was helping this young lady with a bag thief. Nothing anybody needs to worry about anymore as he's left and the bag is still here. Thank you for asking though, sir."

"Nice to meet you Layla Rose. I'm Alyra." She holds out her hand to shake Layla's, and upon seeing Teddy she recognizes him as what the people in movies call a bully, and decides it's best to ignore him. That's what her parents told her to do if she ever comes across a bully. She sets her bag upright and pulls it closer to her with her free hand to make sure it doesn't get stolen again, hoping that her other bag doesn't get stolen as well.

"Well, he's an interesting character, huh? At least he dispersed the crowd. Do you need help bringing these back to your dorm, Alyra?" Without everyone crowding around her anymore, her smile seemed less tense and her body a bit more relaxed. She tentatively put a hand around on of the bag's handles, ready for the fox shifter to say yes. "Before we go, may I ask why you have wings as well as being a fox shifter? It seems quite strange to me."

"Indeed," Alyra giggles, then looks over to where she left Alessa (sorry Zoe515), who seems to be busy texting someone at the moment. I'll just explain to her when I see her later. We are dorm neighbors after all. she thinks. "Yes please, though I left one bag by the front entrance. Would you like to bring this bag up for me while i grab my other one? My room is dorm 615 on the third floor." "Ah, yes. I realized that may be a bit strange." Alyra folds up her wings to hide them, having forgotten that she had left them unfolded. "My mother is a harpy and my father is a fox shifter. Quite an odd pair those two, but it works out I guess." "Have you gotten settled in your dorm yet? or do you need some help with your bags as well?" she asks.
