Cole followed everyone to class, which seemed to be math class. Oh, great. I suck at math. He thought. He sat at an empty seat and tried to listen to what the teacher was saying while ignoring the students' mutters.

(It was snowing at my house too. Also, sorry that I've been gone, my family went to a trunk-or-treat thingy. But basically we went only for my little sister.)

Alyra walks down the quiet hallway with footsteps as light as feathers. This school is useless, half of the other students are dumb, the math teacher isn't teaching anything worth my while, and there was so much stuff to write down that my hand is cramping up! she says in her head, walking slowly toward the bathroom. And on top of everything, the boyfriend of a girl who absolutely hate my guts keeps on flirting with me and staring at me! Once she reaches the bathroom she dashes in and splashes cold water on her face. I didn't realize how warm it was in that classroom until I left, She thinks, and then heads back to class with only 10 minutes left of "learning" to be done before the bell rings to announce P.E. class.

Layla

In the end, she gave up. Layla hadn't expected this school to be so remedial in their learning, and for the students around her not understand it. Plus, P.E. is next. Also known as the worst class to have ever been invented. Hopefully we're doing something easy. She closed her eyes and sat back in her chair, only half-listening to the teacher now. She contemplated going back home to her parents, just to have a real teacher at least.

Oliver

He was genuinely surprised it took this long for his sister to stop writing her notes. I suppose she was trying her best to look like a good student. Plus it IS better than sitting here watching the clock tick down. He just stared down at his paper of notes and occasionally looked up at the teacher and putting his pen on the paper as if he was doing something.

When Alyra gets back to class, she sits back in her original seat next to Layla and waves to her, then takes out her phone while Mrs. Asema isn't paying attention and sends a quick text to Layla. "Ugh this is so boring. At least we have gym class next, my favorite one :)" As soon as she sends the text though, she barely has time to put her phone back away before the teacher passes out a small slip of paper to each student. "Pop quiz!" She announces. "This is just to see how much you all know." She informs the students, setting down a paper on everyone's desks. "After the bell rings, you may leave, it's only 5 questions so you should have time." Alyra shrugs and studies the paper, then almost laughs out loud thinking the paper is a joke. This is basic geometry and A2! I was in geometry for 8th grade! I thought for sure my freshmen year of high school would be a bit more challenging. She thinks, and then feels bad about thinking that while some other students were struggling.

when jameson gets his paper he looks at it in a bit of confusion. the first queston was easy but they got more dificult until he was finaly unable to solve the 5th one. he leans over to get a look at alyras paper because she looks like she knows what she's doing, but she stands up just then to turn her paper in, being the first one to turn in the quiz. damn it. he thinks, and then looks further over, to her friends paper, and gets the answer from her. this better be right. he hopes. but unfortunately, it was not. when the teacher hands the papers back the question he coppied from layla was wrong, and so was one of the ones he did himself, but the other two were right

Layla

These questions seem easy enough. Layla quickly filled in her test page, about to turn it in, when she noticed the boy taking a look at her quiz paper, deciding to take a hit on the test, and quickly changed on of her answers to anything else. Silently smiling to herself after she had finished that. As she did so, she heard her phone ding and took a quick look at Alyra's text while the teacher's back was turned. Typing quickly, to try and insure that the teacher didn't see her with her phone again. "That's your favorite class? How? Physical education is like heck on earth."

Oliver

Hmph, I suppose they truly didn't want us to struggle on the first day. Oliver also quickly filled out his quiz and stood up to give it to the teacher. Conveniently blocking Layla on her phone for most of it. However, I suppose, I should feel bad for the students who are having a hard time.

"It's just more fun. I like to run, and i'm good at pretty much all sports. Unfortunately, basketball and football are really difficult for me though because I have small hands." Alyra texts back to Layla, feeling mad at her grandma for passing down the gene of being short and skinny. At least i'm an exceptional runner, She remembers, nodding subconsciously with pride. "I'm going back to my dorm after the bell rings because this outfit will not be good for sports, do you want to come over for some cookies?" She texts Layla after a few seconds, remembering the bag of cookies she had brought from her old home in anticipation, and then the bell finally rings. Alyra panics, having never been in a school setting before, she freaks out when students start shoving past her to get out the door, shooting her angry glares while she stands frozen in fright in the middle of the walkway.

Layla

Layla looked over her texts, confused how someone could like sports so much. I mean, I won't judge but. . . how can she stand getting all sweaty and dirty? She shivers, not really sure what to text back. "I suppose cookies would be nice. Deciding it would be better to just not saying anything about her hate for sports. Almost jumping out of her seat when the bell rings and standing about 10 feet from the door to wait for the it to clear.

Oliver

Oliver watched Alyra freeze in the middle of the crowd. Not sure what to do, he just waited next to Layla. I knew public school would be different, but I didn't expect for them to be like wild animals. What warrants someone to need to leave the class immediately? Turning towards his sister, he remembered what class they had next. "Oh, yes, I forgot. You're dreading the next class aren't you?"

Once the other students clear out of the hallway, Alyra finally calms down and walks toward the door very carefully, making sure to steer clear of anyone who might shove her again, and then meets Layla by the door. "You can come to my dorm after you change to your athletic gear, if you need to change." She tells Layla, and then shakes her head, realizing her stupidity. "Oh, of course you do, you're wearing a dress," She laughs, "I didn't even realize, I'm so oblivious oh my gosh,"

Layla

She raises her eyebrow, obviously confused. "Of course I'm wearing a dress. I must make a good impression on the first day, at least. I suppose I can stop by and change to better clothes, however. As long as I do get my cookies afterward." She smiled. "Hopefully they'll go easy on us for the first day. Which it seems they will, if math class was anything to go by."

Oliver

He joined the two in the hallway, "So you are dreading it, then? I thought as much. Alyra, you may want to stop her from getting cookies until after gym class. You know, give her some more motivation." He walked a little faster down the hallway, hopefully to get a little more of an advance on Layla, heading straight for his dorm so he could go change.
