She barely resisted letting out a yelp from the sudden pain. That was not going to help her heal. She was happy when he came back with food. She still wasn't too hungry though. But she knew she would need energy for today.

then she realized the banana was brown and the oatmeal was dry and smelled like a mix between sawdust and cardboard.

( Like going bad brown spots or rotten entirely brown?)

That was a little puzzling. None of the food yesterday looked nearly that bad. Much less smelled like that. Maybe it would be best to skip breakfast completely. She was even less hungry now.

(Kinda in the middle of those stages. Either way, I dont reccomend eating it.)

That jerk guard probably set the food up that way.

That was likely. She wondered what might have made him do that. Most people had reasons for being jerks to someone. Was he a friend of that other guard? Oh wait, his name was Kyle.

Yep, best to remember the name.

She would probably mispronouce it at some point. She was always bad with names. She winced thinking about all the times people had to tell her their names.

That basically described it. Some people would laugh at her for it. People are absolute jerks. She would try hard to remember the guard's Kyle's name.

After a while, lunch rolls around, and the guard began to leave to get her nasty food before Kyle stopped him, talked to him, and then opened the door. *ok, follow me.* he said.
