"Thanks," Alyra tells Oliver, finally able to breathe now that she isn't dragging a 300 pound couch up the stairs by herself. "Have you decorated your dorm yet?" She asks him, trying to make conversation because being in awkward silence is, well, awkward.

Oliver

"Yeah. Not much else to do currently. Especially not with how horrible those dorms were treated. I couldn't stand not cleaning that place. And then I realized that the furniture wasn't in good condition either, so I got some stuff at the market. I also noticed that you never actually answered with what you were planning on going to the party as. Did you decide?" He smiled, trying his best to continue the conversation, as he didn't like awkward silences either.

Layla

She was walking slowly behind her brother, as they were taking up the stairs with the couch. She doubted Alyra or Oliver even noticed that she was behind them. "Oh, yeah, that's right. You didn't. I would like to say that Roxanne would likely be too into herself to even notice you, if that helps at all."

"Haha, that's true," Alyra laughs, and then thinks for a second. "I think I've decided to go as a deerfox, they are so cute and I love them so much," She decides, "but I might change my mind because i'm extremely indecisive..." She continues.
When they finally reach the 6th floor, Alyra sighs in relief. "Phew, that was taking forever,"

Oliver

"Don't worry about it, we're both also very indecisive." He laughed and sets down his side of the couch. "So where do you want this one put? I didn't put any of the big furniture in, what I assume, will eventually be there places as I couldn't remember the plans you made."

Layla

"How forgetful are you?" She facepalmed, sighed, and continued. "Oh, well, I think this is Alyra's couch. So she should get final say in where it goes, right?"

"Well, I was planning to just put all of the furniture in the living room because it has to stay away from the walls so I can paint the walls in the morning." Alyra says, yawning. "So i'm going to sleep on the floor because i'm too lazy to set things up just to move it around again," she laughs.

Oliver

"Alright. Good thing I've been putting them away from the walls then." He picked up the couch once again and brought it into the living room. The only sign of struggling he had the whole time was when he was trying to fit it through the door. "I did put a mattress down though, so it's probably better to sleep on that. Just so you dont hurt yourself."

Layla

She watched her brother intently, offering non-helpful advice like, "Turn it on its side. No, the other side! Never mind." Though, she had put some serious consideration into Alyra's plan that night. "I was thinking of doing the same thing, but definitely sleeping on a mattress at least. My body hurts enough without having to worry about sleeping on the floor too."

(I'm laughing so hard about the couch thing because of a show I used to watch called friends there was one episode where they were trying to move a couch and one guy kept on yelling "Pivot! Pivot!" and this reminded me of that so thank you so much for that )

"Oh, thank you," Alyra gives Oliver a look of thanks and curtsies. "You sound like an old person," She tells Layla, giggling. "Well have a good night you guys" She smiles sweetly, then looks down at her watch. 7:45pm she reads, and tries to kick them out kindly so that she'll have time to read some of her book before she needs to go to sleep.

(You know, I was thinking of that exact scene when I was writing it too)
Layla

She groaned, like an old lady, just for effect. "Alright. See you tomorrow!" She closes the door behind her, and glances to her brother. "And that includes you too. If I want to be awake for tomorrow's classes, I need to go to bed now."

Oliver

"Alright, alright, I get it. Let me walk you to your door at least." So he accompanied her a whole three rooms down from Alyra's. After exchanging good night wishes he continues down the hall to his own dorm, ready to go to sleep.

"Phew," Alyra signs aloud, and then digs around in one of her bags for the book she was so excited to read. A Court of Mist and Fury. She picks up the book, and then jumps onto her bed, laying down on her stomach and turning to the page she had last bookmarked.

Sasha struggled in the handcuffs that held her hands behind her back. A guard growled a warning at her. She shrank back, and was dragged into a cell.
"Six days." A guard barked.
"Six days until you go to court and prove your innocence... or get executed for treason. Sasha shuddered.

Ethan bought some furniture and ferried it back to his dorm. He looked around at the measly dorm, and let out a long, low breath at the all the money he had spent. Hopefully it was worth it. He mused over what he was going to go as for the Halloween party.
