Cole dipped his head at the vampire before running back to Scorchwood High. He quit looking for that scent, thinking that it was Sasha, but then a thought crossed him. What if he looked for Sasha? He could find her, and save her, she could go into hiding, he could protect her. Then he mentally rolled his eyes. There was no way he could find her and save her, in time.

Oliver

He chuckled at Alyra's attempt to hide her blush. Seems she gets easily flustered. I'll keep that in mind. He hoisted himself up into the truck and said, "You know, that's exactly what I said when you started walking to the witch's stall. How funny."

Layla

Layla quickly gave him a flat look. "Are you sure it'll be safe in there?" Before even waiting for an answer, she pulled herself up into it and put the pizza box down in a non-crowded area.

"hehehe," Alyra takes a slice of pizza and sits down on a seemingly partly secure chair, not wanting to get squished by furniture. "I love pizza," she says dreamily, happily taking a bite. "I feel like I say that about most food, but you've gotta admit, pizza is pretty superior."

Layla

Layla carefully took a piece of the pizza and sat on the floor, not willing for a non secure chair to throw her across the truck once they hit a pothole. "Yes, pizza is pretty good. It's up there on the list definitely. How long do you think it will take us to get everything inside?"

Oliver

He took a piece of the pizza and leaned up against one of the bed frames. "Shouldn't take too long. I'm sure the mover will help and you have super speed at your disposal. You may not be super strong, but you can take the lighter things and I'll help with the heavier stuff."

"And I have wings, so if someone opens the windows then I can fly stuff up and bring them in through the windows." Alyra suggests, taking another slice of pizza. "What? A girl's gotta eat. Harpy's have really fast metabolism so I eat a lot." she laughs.

Layla

"I'm not judging, I usually take three at most. Sometimes you're just hungry, you know? Though it does make sense that harpies would have fast metabolism. I would assume flying would take a lot out of someone." As if to prove a point, she took another slice of pizza.

Oliver

He just leaned against the bed frame. Today has been a chore. He sighed, mentally preparing himself before he joined into the conversation. "Yeah, I suppose it would since I'm guessing harpies don't have hollowed bones like birds do. I wouldn't know, of course, but it would certainly make the task of flying much harder."

"Yeah, but we also need to be pretty light so that we don't break our wings when we take off," "Imagine an elephant with wings, it would need to have some really powerful wings to take flight, which is why we have such fast metabolism." "We don't exactly have hollow bones, but more like just a few air pockets. That way our bones don't break so easily," Alyra explains. "But if our bones did break, they would heal up really fast because there's less to heal," She smiles, happy to share knowledge about her species. "I'm surprised my bones have the air pockets though, because i'm also half shifter and their bones are actually fortified, so it's a bit strange being like this," She brings out her wings and then shifts to her fox form, then back to her human form.

Layla

"So that would mean you would be at least moderately strong, right?" She quietly watched as Alyra showed her wings and fox form. "Why are shifter's bones fortified, anyway? Since your bones aren't, what would happen?" Layla noticed that Alyra was eager to talk about her species, so she just decided to keep asking questions to fill the time until they got there.

Oliver

They certainly do get along very well, both are curious and won't stop talking about their personal knowledge. It's kind of nice though, reminds me of when we were little kids. "I thought you were going to say they can heal up really fast because harpies can heal."

"Their bones are fortified so that they can undergo the shifting process without their bones breaking, but I think the reason my bones don't break when I shift is because of some sort of spell my parents got from a witch when I was a child. I don't remember it all too well, but I believe that's what happened." Alyra tries to remember more from her childhood, but since she doesn't want to give away who she truly is, she changes the subject. "Soo, what are you guys going to dress up as for the party?"

Layla

"Absolutely no idea. I don't dress up for Halloween most years, so I'm kind of clueless. Maybe a vengeful ghost or something." She shrugged. "Would take a lot of makeup though, to make myself look more dead."

Oliver

"I might go as a warlock, or like a dragon. I don't know. Our parents never really did Halloween much. What about you?" He finally took a second slice of pizza, finding out that the pizza was already cooling down.
