"There are places you can reliably catch seals," Sastrugi offers, thinking of the Kingdom's animus gifts. "However, I can take you on a hunt if you'd rather fight a polar bear."

Avalanche looks at Tiamat carefully before giving a hesitant agreement. "I might ask you for advice later, if the offer still stands?"

Hakaishin grinned. *polar bear. I want a challenge.*

Tiamat smiled and nodded. *of course!*

"We'll have to make sure to find one then," Sastrugi says. No one can guarantee a catch in a single hunt, but it's hardly difficult to find one if you try enough times.

Avalanche gives a small grin at that and steps off.

Hakaishin grinned.

Tiamat smiled at Avalanche before turning to the judges, looking bored.

"Welcome in Shiver, rank one!" the announcer calls as the lithe grey dragon pauses, tucking his head in a slight bow before taking his position at the edge of the ring. "He's a trainee for the Queen's Regiment, and the winner of the last year's competition!"

While the announcer speaks, the match is begun with a shrill whistle. A small cluster of IceWings perched to the side of the royal stands, other trainees in the same regiment, begins to cheer.

Tiamat smirked and waited for his opponent to make the first move, ready to strike.

Hakaishin watched.

Shiver meets Tiamat's smirk with a focused gaze, leaving to the two to circle each other, both waiting for the first move. Eventually, he breaks the stalemate, closing to distance with outstretched claws, poised to strike the underside of Tiamat's jaw.

Tiamat growled and lunges forward, grabbing Shivers claws with his own, with the two dragons pushing against each other, wrestling style. Then he smirked and let go before jumping back, letting Shiver fall into the snow.

Defeated, Shiver lays upon the snow, letting out a faint sigh before he steps off. "Good match," he says, polite.

Afterward, the festivities begin to start. The announcer walks over to Tiamat's side, a glistening ice-carved wreath in his claws. Gesturing for him to bow his head, the announcer sets the victor's crown on Tiamat's head before calling, "And first place goes to Tiamat, our guest from beyond the icefields! May the Great Ice Dragon watch over you and safeguard your journeys through the ice and snow."

Wild cheers begin to ring out from the crowd before, suddenly, brilliant colors begin to erupt into the sky. Fireworks, a new invention important from the Nightwings.

Sastrugi joins in, mouth parting in a sharp-toothed smile as she laughs. "Congratulations on your victory!"

Tiamat smiled and nodded to Shiver before allowing the crown to be put on his head. Once he was congratulated, he spread his wings, lit up his bioluminescent scales, and ROARED, shaking the ground and causing a nearby snow fort to collapse from the shaking. Thankfully, no one was inside, and therefore, no one was harmed.

Hakaishin grinned and ran over to Tiamat. *congrats!*
