(Wow that was a rollercoaster of a read)

Ethan entered the heart of Pinevale, and froze as he stumbled upon a gory, dead body. He examined it for a few seconds, then decided that it was an accident, until he saw some girls and a guy running away from the scene.... He grimaced. Accidentally killing somebody sucked. But what if they were trained assassins? They could be a threat. He meandered after them, thinking up something clever and witty to say.

(Dang Layla's definitely being murdered thats gonna be some great trauma for Alyra and Oliver :D)
Oliver

Oliver almost pulled Layla from the body. Oliver tried his best to console Layla and follow Alyra's path. "Sis, respectfully, this isn't the time to be freaking out over the dead person. The way the wendigo look at you before he left makes me more worried for you!" He noticed another vampire following them, but decided there was too much going on to worry about that at the moment.

Layla

"Oh my god he just- what kind of maniac-" Her brain was short circuiting. She couldn't find the words to express the fear and pain in her heart. She knew she should be worried about how the wendigo looked at her, and that she shouldn't be acting like this, but she didn't know what else to do. She was in shock.

Ethan approached the vampires. He smiled charmingly.
"Hello. What's happened here? Are you okay?"
He changed his expression to one of concern and tried to distract the other two vampires from the body. They were siblings, he assumed. He observed them some more. From their shocked, panicked expressions, they hadn't killed the poor soul who was on the ground. He changed the subject.
"I'm Ethan. I happen to be looking for someone, but I'm not from around here and haven't seen her in a long time. Do you know a Sasha Featherwind? She's a harpy, about this tall?"

(oh no)

Once far away from the parking lot -and the horror scene- Alyra tries to calm her heart beat and pays more attention to the task at hand; finding decorations for her and her friend's dorm room of course, because that's totally more important that making sure you don't get murdered by a bunch of witches in the middle of a market. I just hope my family doesn't hear about this and compromise their positions... She thinks, continuing on down the aisles of stalls and finding the occasional useful piece.

(Indeed, oh no)
Layla

Not sure whether to trust this newcomer or not, she decided to tell him as little as possible. "Uh. . . we got an Uber from a Wendigo and it ran over someone before looking like it was going to kill me and sped off." She pressed her hand to her head to try and calm her migraine, and her nerves, down. "I don't think I know a Sasha. I saw a harpy at the coffee shop and she briefly talked to us but I doubt she's who you're looking for sir."

Oliver

Oliver shifted so his body was blocking Layla mostly, still in protective mode. He tried for his own charming smile. "And if you don't mind, Ethan, we will be going now. We have a prior commitment and for my sister's sake, don't want to be around here anymore." He tipped his hat as a goodbye, trying to be as polite as he could in the current situation and took his sister by the hand to lead her away.

(I still cant believe how quickly this escalated from chatting at the coffee shop to literal murder lol)
Ethan nodded.
"A wendigo, you say? And you don't know Sasha? Well, I'll leave you alone then."
He walked off, lost in his thoughts. It couldn't be Sasha, Sasha had tried to avoid talking whenever possible. But maybe....
There was also the wendigo situation to think over. The fact that there was someone running over innocents was... concerning to say the least. He decided that the best thing to do was lay low and went to go register for public high school.

(I cant either tbh)
Oliver

"Oh, Alyra told you to text her once you got away from the corpse. Once you feel up to it, of course. We can sit down if you need too as well." Oliver was finally able to show his worry for her, and decided he wa likely not to leave her alone until she had to go into her own dorm. I'm not going to let anything happen to her when I've just found her again. Especially not by an unhinged wendigo.

Layla

She slowly nodded her head, as if his words were finally sinking in, and took out her phone. "Where are you in the market? I got away from the horror show." She took in a few shaky breaths before steeling herself and sending the text. If she pretended nothing happened for the moment, she could fully process it later, in the safety of her dorm. But not here, not in front of all of these people. "Let's walk around for a bit while I wait for her to respond."

(I guess I added exciting events too quickly lmao)

Alyra opens her phone upon getting a notification, and quickly sends back her pinged location to Layla. "Meet here, I found a really good food stall, they have churros!" She waits in line for a churro, and is rudely skipped in line by some Karen. She decides not to make a fuss about it though, no need to draw more attention after the hit and run...

(No, no its alright I just wasnt expecting it)
Layla

"She says she's by a food stall. It looks to be quite close. Follow me." She shook off the last bit of anxiety and started leading Oliver through the fray, just long enough to see a lady cut in front of Alyra. It's been too much of a long day to deal with that lady. She sighed and joined Alyra in line.

Oliver

Oliver could tell everything was still bothering her, but didn't push anything further. He willingly followed her directions and watched the lady cut in front of the shifter. He was about to intervene when he saw Layla's face and decided they had all been through enough already. They didn't need to be yelled at to top it all off.

"Oh, hey guys, just in time." Alyra tells them when they get to the front of the line. "Y'all want anything?" She asks, taking out her card and preparing to pay after ordering a churro and a donut burger from the stall.
