Fern Looked at Kaz. ' Why doesn't that surprise me.' He said.

'And what does he look like?.'

"He's a Zolnixi, older than us and he's orange with black banded stripes and red eyes."

Kaz got a look of hatred in his eyes while describing him.

Fern noticed the hate.

Though he wasn't fond of Kaz so far, he did feel a but sorry for him. Having met a sylestie that could make you look like that, that sure can't have been a fun experiance.

'That bad huh.'

Fern said, making sure Kaz knew it was his hatefull eyes he was talking about and not what he said.

"Uh... yeah."

Kaz forced himself to calm down, embarrassed and annoyed with himself for letting that emotion show in front of Fern.

"Let's just keep going, okay? You'll find out what he's like soon enough."

'Oh goodie, can't wait.'

Fern said following Kaz.

Man was he glad when he could go home.

By sundown they had reached the cover of a small cluster of trees.

"Okay, we're here." He turned to Fern. "Now we should find-- OOF!"
There was a flash of blue and brown and before he could finish his sentence, Kaz was knocked to the ground.

"Kazzie, Kazzie, Kazzie!"
An over-excited Aurleon stood on top of the dazed Zolnixi.
"What's up, buddy? I ain't seen you in ages!"

"Ugh, Pacco, it's only been a few days. Can you get off me?" Kaz grumped.

Fern raised an eyebrow at the hyper aurleon.

He just looked at them and watched the scene playing infront of him.

"Sorry, buddy. It just gets so boring around here without anyone to hang with." As soon as he let Kaz up he noticed Fern.

"Hi! Who's this? New friend? Hi, new friend!"
Pacco spoke in short bursts as he grabbed Fern's paw and shook it.

Fern looked a bit dizzy at the wild shake.

He pulled his paw back.

'Uhm yeah Hi. Who are you?'

Fern asked, wanting to know where this random aurleon suddenly came from and why.

"This is Pacco, he's who we're here to see." Kaz explained.

"Listen, I need to find Feiht. Do you know where he's at?"

Pacco drew back, shocked. "What?! Why'd you wanna look for him?"
He looked around. "Glitch ain't with you, did he--?"

"No, no!" Kaz interrupted, "She's safe."

Pacco looked relieved. "Well, word is he's been slinkin' around the canyon. You sure you wanna find him?"

"Nope."

He turned to Fern.
"It's dark now, we should probably wait until tomorrow to go to the canyon."
