Riley looks up at Shade, surprised by his sudden increase in authority. "Then, in that case, you shouldn't have to fight for it? And why shouldn't you deserve respect. You just said everyone deserves respect, so you are contradicting yourself."

Shade sighed,shoulders...seeming to slump. "Everyone deserves it.I am not included." His voice was thick with guilt and sorrow until he snapped himself back to that angry and hateful person and his grip tightened on Riley's shoulders,eyes being forced to be cold. "Don't let yourself think of your own being as low,it makes your weaknesses show.Anyone here,clearly,will take advantage of that.Don't let them.You'll have to be strong to survive here,this has been made clear,has it not?" He seemed to be trying to make sure that Riley didn't get hurt here.And not because he was his blood source now.

Riley gets a little queasy at the thought of being taken advantage of, though it was a very likely occurance. "Yes, sir." Riley says quietly.
Hmmmmm, now how to build confidence... Stop being so afraid? Welp, that'll take a while.

He then pulled Riley close to his chest in a hug. "Good,I don't want you to be hurt.I'd kill anyone if they dared." He murmured.

Riley hugs Shade back. "Don't kill people, I still think that's wrong... But if everyone is trying to kill someone, then you can declare it was in self-defense, so that is alright, I guess. But that's only a last resort type a thing..."

Shade patted...then stroked Riley's head. "I guess your right..." He sighed. "If you don't want me to I wont." He seemed to be softening up a bit to Riley but still that defensive hate and anger would show up wen needed.

"Okay, thank you." Riley says, relaxing slightly. There are some things to adore about him...

He's pr-no! He's human and...and...your a killer,and idiot and mad dragon.Stupid stupid stupid! He's...so sweet though...t-to sweet for his own good! But...I won't let anyone take advantage of him,not even me.I don't care how I have to do it,even if he doesn't want me to kill.B-becausehe'sjustsoadorableandacutelittlethingthat'stotallywhynofeelingsyeah.

His thoughts didn't even reflect how uncomfortable and calmish he seemed on the outside.

"So... Are we going to go see what there is to see? Maybe get something to eat before we head off to do whatever chipping is..." Riley asks slowly, not wanting to stop hugging Shade but knowing that if they didn't get going, they may never get going, and that might make it so that they get in trouble, and Riley didn't want Shade to get in trouble. He also didn't want to get in trouble himself, but...

"Sure." He said simply,gently releasing Riley but seemed rather quick about it.Only his eyes gave away that he wanted to keep hugging Riley too,despite that he didn't like cuddles.
