Hello and welcome to the tale of Demon Blood, this is my first fan fiction this story will have my own events, places, and battles etc. I'll try to relate some parts of the story to the game as in my pets, and I hope you enjoy. PG 13. Feel free to comment on the story but keep negative comments to yourself.
Chapter 1
Peace is a young orphan boy who wishes to explore the world with magical creatures known as Sylesti, he works with the professor at the essence generators. The professor noticing the boys longing had an idea for a gift for his birthday but when the day finally came....
Peace: Whats going on?
Professor Felix: I don't know shield your eyes
Dust is flying all over the lab as Peace is trying to figure out what is going on, someone grabs his shoulder.
Bandit 1: Hay guys, I found the professors little assistant maybe the professor won't tell us were the essence are, but I don't think this kid is as tough.
Bandit 2: Your probably right Zeke this kid doesn't look so tough.
Zeke (Bandit 1):Of course i'm right.
Zeke pulls out a dagger and holds it to Peace's throat.
Zeke: Now kid you know what were here for so tell us, before this gets messy, where are the essence of the Sylesti.
Peace: I..... I won't tell you.
Zeke: trying to be tough ok Paul get over here.
Paul (Bandit 2): Ok Zeke.
A bright light flashes and the dust finally clears, and the professor finally shows himself.
Professor Felix: Back away from him.
Zeke and Paul: Or what.
Professor Felix: Or you going to fight his pet.
Peace: Wait that means.
Professor Felix: You guessed it.
Out of nowhere a shadow seems to come out of nowhere, and attack the bandits near peace it's a black Vulnyx with white ears and paws glowing blood red eyes,and it looks mad.

Peace: Professor did you use the last essence in the lab to make that. You of all people should know that that essence was unstable.
After a few seconds Peace doesn't hear a response he looks around, and doesn't see the professor he only sees the Vulnyx hit against the wall.
Peace: What just happened the Vulnyx was beating those bandits.
Bandit Leader: Was is the key word in that sentence boy, and as a trainer you have one weak Sylesti you didn't last a minute you may have scared off those other two but not me. We got what we needed until we meet again good bye.
Peace: wait come back here, what did you do to the professor!
But all was silent all that was left was a ruined lab a boy and an injured Sylesti. Slowly the Sylesti stood its eyes no longer red but a light blue.

Peace: Well might as well give you a name as thanks for the help I'll call you Shade.

Chapter 2
After the incident at the lab took place. Peace and his new companion Shade left the isolated hills, where the lab hid. For Peace it was his best dream and worst nightmare combined. Peace finally was on his adventure with his new Sylesti, Shade the bad side was the closest person he had to family was kidnapped on his birthday. Peace needed help so he was going to the town the professor talked about, and went to for the labs paid jobs to create Sylesti's, from the local travelers with there own essences. How Peace missed those jobs he had with the professor, and with his goal of the professor the only thing in his mind he remembered every direction every turn the professor ever mentioned he took, on his way to town. After a while of determined path making, Peace finally hears some noise besides the calm blow of the wind, the sound of laughter, and conversation he dashes with Shade close behind.
Peace: Shade, come on, keep up! I hear people, follow me!
Shade: Prrrrrrr........
Peace: What's the matter?
Peace backtracks to where Shade stands, and looks in the direction Shade is facing but he only sees a purple rock in the tall grass.
Peace: It's just a rock come on we need to get to town.
Peace pulls on Shade trying to get him to move.
Shade: Gggrrrrrrrr........
Shade walks towards the rock, and picks it up with his tail. Peace looks at it closer.

Peace: wait that's a egg.
Shade rolls his eyes and starts walking to the noise.
Peace: (Thought) How did Shade know it was an egg?
Finally after some walking they make it to town, and are immediately stopped by a guard.
Guard: Halt. State your business.
Peace was prepared for this, and knew what to say he wanted to stay on the down low with the lab incident until he found the sheriff.
Peace: I'm here for Professor Felix.
Guard: Very well enter.
Peace: Thank you.
Guard: Wait! Before you enter explain the egg and Vulnyx.
Peace: The Vulnyx's name is Shade the professor gave him to me. The egg Shade found on the way here.
Guard: Were is your permit for both of your sylesti's.
Peace: Permit?
Guard: No permit no entry.
Peace: Wait I need to get to town.
Guard: Huh. Okay kid you don't seem like a bandit, so I will make you a deal I know a guy who sells land for stables, if you have a stable you can register you Sylesti's. If you beat my sylesti I will provide you your own stable, and hatchery so you can get your permits, and enter town. The catch is if you lose, I get that egg of yours. Do we have a deal?
Shade: Gggrrrr.....
Peace: I have no choice it's a deal.
The Guard whistle's, and a purple Draeyl with a green and blue striped belly appears.

It is wearing 2 bracelets Peace doesn't recognize.
Peace: What is it wearing?
Guard: Accessories make strong Sylestie's. Now battle. Well aren't you going to call a attack.
Peace: Uhhhh....
Guard: Fine i'll go focused attack.
Shade takes the full force of the blow and is blown back. It gets back up and throws the egg at Peace. Shade then shows it's claws and lunges at Draeyl.
Guard: Focused attack again. How pathetic you can't command your Sylesti don't worry i'll take good care of that egg.
All of sudden Shade makes a low purrrrr and his eyes glow red and yellow ruins show on his fur.

Shade: Roar!
Guard: Wow a light show i'm so scared, hay Shade is it bring it.
Shade circles the opponent so fast that the Draeyl gets confused just watching then shade strikes. The Draeyl was thrown upward and fly's into the wall protecting the town.
Guard: (with a surprised, scared, and happy look) Now that is a attack. I guess you win keep your egg, and here (hands Peace a map) that is a map of the nearby area, enjoy. I marked your stable on it come back with your permits and I will let you in.
Shade turns back to normal.
Peace: You hear that Shade we are 1 step closer.
Guard: Closer to what?
Peace: Uhh... Nothing.

Chapter 3
After there visit to town Peace, Shade, and the Egg are heading to there new stables so they can get Sylesti ownership permits and finally get access to enter the town.
Peace: Shade why are you so attached to the egg? You been holding it for hours. Need me to carry it?
Shade just looks away and continues walking.
Peace: Okay then.
Shade's ears go straight up.
Peace: You hear something?
Shade throws the egg to Peace and starts crawling low off the trail. Peace follows slowly.
Peace:Whats happening Shade?
Shade just stares at Peace, until Peace figures out Shade will not move till he is quiet. A few moments later Peace looks through the bush that there hiding behind, and sees a bandit camp. Before he can say anything, Shade shoves his tail in his mouth. They sneak around the bandits tent a little longer until a wild Vulnyx jumps out of a bush nearby and starts attacking the bandits. Shade just stares at the wild Vulnyx, finally Peace is back in charge.

Peace: Shade snap out of it we need to help. Lets try the attack the Guard used, Focused Attack.
Shade obeying the command jumps out of the bush and attacks the nearby bandit.
Bandit 1: Where are these coming from.
Bandit 2: I dunno but the green one with the pink stripe has tried attacking us 3 times, but what's the story with the black one?
Bandit 1: Who cares just fight they probably want to save the Sylesti we stole.
After a barrage of endless attacks Shade feels energized, (Magic attack) Shade starts glowing blue(Shade uses Finishing Blow) he runs fast but not like at the town, and strikes bandit 1 hard enough to make him fall to his knees unconscious. The wild Vulnyx does the same thing to bandit 2.
Peace: (Thoughts) Must be the breed of sylesti.
Peace steps out of the bushes.
Peace: Nice job Shade.
The wild Vulnyx pounces on Peace.
Peace: Owww...
Shade uses Focused Attack on wild.
Peace: (To wild) What was that we helped you.
Wild Vulnyx: Ggggrrrr....
Shade does a low roar.
Peace: If you 2 lovers are done fighting those bandit mentioned stolen Sylesti's. Lets go in the tent be on guard those 2 may not be the only Bandits.
All 3 enter the tent the Wild first, Shade after, and then Peace out of fear for the Wild. In the tent there is a chained up Morkko in a collar.

Also a baby Zolnixi with a rock on its tail.

The 2 Vulnyx start clawing and biting on the Morkko's chain, why Peace lifts the rock off the Zolnixi's tail slowly in a effort not to hurt it. Once the Morkko was freed it was running off to town probably going to find its owner. when the Zolnixi was freed it ran towards the Wild Vulnyx which picked it with its teeth (standard motherly cat and kitten sort of way). After a while of the Wild Vulnyx just staring at Peace, and Shade.
Peace: Uhh.. Would you like to come with us to the stables?
The Wild Vulnyx nodded slowly trying to not wake up the now sleeping Zolnixi.
Peace: Might as well give you 2 some names. (looking at the Vulnyx) How about Sly?
Vulnyx: Nods no.
Peace: How about Meadow.
Vulnyx: Nods no.
Peace: Great you don't like my names (sarcastically) that's just perfect.
Vulnyx: Nods yes.
Peace: Wait you want to be called Purrfect.
Purrfect: Nods yes.
Peace takes a close look at the Zolnixi and notices some pink runes in its green fur.
Peace: And how about Ancient for the little guy.
Purrfect: Nods yes.
Peace: Now that we finally cleared that up lets head to the stables.
Peace and his Sylesti's leave the bandit camp, and head for the main road, and the stables finally when there there the sun already set and it was nearly midnight.
Peace: Great we made it, okay guys pick out the your rooms for yourselves, I just need some sleep. Shade put the Egg in the Hatchery Purrrfect do the same with Ancient and goodnight.

Chapter 4
After infiltrating one of the bandit smaller camps Peace made 2 new allies, Purrfect the Vulnx, and whats seems to be her adopted young Ancient the Zolnixi.
Peace: Hay everyone I studied up on some of the fliers around the stable, apparently you can have a max of 6 fight worthy Sylesties at all times. Also I registered you all and have you Permits and collars. Shade you have to leave the egg at the hatchery don't worry we will check on it daily.
Shade: Gggrrr...
Peace: Anyway, Purrfect, Shade, and Ancient you will be my battle team for now. The fliers suggested that Hatchlings shouldn't be used on the battle team, but I think battling at hatchling stage will be a key aspect in learning.
Ancient: Bark! (Starts wagging its tail with its tounge out.)
Peace: I hope that means you agree.
After Peace gives everyone there collar (except the egg) they all head to town, but for some reason Shade is ready to attack at all times, probably wanting to get back to the egg before anything bad happens.
Guard: Its you again.
Peace: Yaa i'm back with my pets permits, and collars.
Guard: Very well. You may pass.
After Peace, and his Sylesti's get to town they find the sheriff's office.
Deputy: Hello, I never seen you before whats the trouble.
Peace: Sorry, but you seem young for a sheriff.
Deputy: Well that's because i'm not i'm his son deputy Cliff.
Peace: When will the sheriff be back?
Cliff: Couple days.
Peace: Days!
Cliff: don't worry. Who knows he may be early, but for now enjoy yourself. You look stressed I ask you relax meet some of the villagers.
Peace: But.
Cliff: No buts only one day that is all i ask.
Peace: Fine but only to see if the sheriff is back early.
Cliff: Good. Now go relax.
After they leave the Sheriff's office they go explore town.
Peace: That was a waste. Ahh.
Girl: Sorry.
Peace: No it was my fault, I should have been looking where I was going.
The girl helps Peace up and he notices something familiar about her, Peace looks down and it hits him.
Peace: That Morkko! We rescued it last night!
Girl: Wait are you serious!
Peace: Yes.
Girl: I found him on my doorstep this morning, I talked to the Guard but he said he walked in alone. Where was he.
Peace: I'm not sure you want to know but he was in a bandit camp chained up.
Girl: What! We need to tell the Sheriff!
Peace: I just tried he isn't there. All I found was Cliff.
Girl: Not in the office. I actually live here so everyone knows me and I know the sheriff is at the Windmill trying to clear the fields, C'mon.
Peace: Wait one second. Who are you, and this Morkko.
Girl: I'm Amy and this is Grizzly,but since we are now asking for names what yours.
Peace: I'm Peace, and this is Shade, Purrfect, and Ancient.
Amy: Great let's go.
Peace follows Amy to the mill, and are quickly ambushed by bandits.
Zeke: Your the kid from the lab, this your back up a girl no matter I never learned not to hit girls.
Amy: (to Peace) I bet he has no social life.
Peace: (to Amy) Is that what all girls start thinking right away.
Amy: (to Peace) Yes.
Peace: (to Amy) I was kidding.
Paul: Zeke lets finish these guys quickly.
Everyone gets ready for combat Zeke, and Paul Draw sword why Peace, and Amy call Sylesti.
Amy: Grizzly lets do this fast finishing blow.
Grizzly glows a light blue and does a full head charge Paul counters by using his sword.
Peace: I thought that only worked at the end.
Amy: Newbie you know you can save up mana right?
Peace: Uhh...
Amy: Just Fight Now!
Peace: Right. Everyone focused Attack.
Shade hits the sword from Zeke why Purrfect goes for the main blow.
Peace: Why isn't ancient doing anything?
Amy: Wait is that a hatchling, it can't fight it doesn't know any attacks.
Peace: Your telling me this now!
Paul: Get off me you stupid bear.
Paul hits Grizzly, and sends it back with his sword. Why Grizzly dizzy from getting hit to many times Paul draws his sword and heads for Peace. Peace tries to run but Paul throws the blade.
Peace: Ahhh...
As Peace looks death in its cold silver blade Ancient tackles Peace.
Peace: (To Amy) and you said hatchlings can't fight.
Amy: They still can't.
Ancient: Ggrrrr..
Paul: I'm not done yet. Zeke call'em.
Zeke: On it.
Zeke whistles and instead of more bandits he calls a Ny'verne.

Zeke: Paul Lets go.
As Amy and Peace get ready to fight a giant 2 storied Ny'verne the bandits flee.

Chapter 5
Peace tries to report his problem to the sheriff, but he found out that he was doing a job out of town. He made a new friend Amy who helps Peace get to the sheriff. Peace runs into Zeke and Paul who now have a Ny'verne.
Peace: You ready guys.
His pets roar in response even Ancient tries to roar.
Amy: Grizzly focused attack.
Grizzly charges but is only hit back again by the Ny'verne.
Peace: Shade and Purrfect, quick attack.
Purrfect runs to the left and Shade to the right but are quickly hit back. Ancient then runs and clamps with his teeth on the Ny'verne's horn.
Peace: That a boy!
Amy: Fine some hatchlings can fight.
The Ny'verne shook Ancient off and then his mouth started to glow red Ny'verne, used fire ball. Shade started to glow.
Peace: Ancient get out of the way!
Shade like a blurr grabs Ancient as the area he was just in was singed. Shade then roars at the Ny'verne in his new form.

Amy: What just happened.
Peace: Shade is unstable.
Shade then attacks the Ny'verne and actually throws it back.
Ny'verne: Roar!!!!!
The Ny'verne takes to the sky Shade with his wings follows.
Peace: C'mon Amy we need to get to the sheriff, Shade can handle himself from here.
They all start towards the windmill why Shade fights in aerial combat. They get inside.
Peace: If that was just there outside guard be careful who knows what in here.
They walk inside a couple steps and start to hear yelling they quietly sneak to the sound.
Bandit Minor Leader (BML): So sheriff you must not have been expecting my Ny'verne when you came to attack our camp did you, the big boss does provide us something every once in a while.
Amy: They caught the sheriff we need to get in there.
BML: Who's there.
Amy puts her hand over her mouth even though it was to late they knew they were there.
BML: Zeke, Paul find out what's going on.
Zeke and Paul get out of the room and shut the door behind them and are quickly attacked by Grizzly, Amy and Peace take there swords and head into the room they believe the sheriff is in.
Peace: Give us the sheriff before I call Shade in here.
BML: Who's Shade no matter, you want to save Thomas here don't you well come and get him.
BML makes a sharp whistle and 10 grunts come in.
BML: You will wish that you never got in my way, I will claim the fields for the boss, now attack.
Ancient bites one of the grunts why Amy helps Purrfect easily takes on three Grizzly has five to deal with and Peace frees the sheriff Thomas who goes for the leader. Peace then fights the last grunt member.
Thomas: Now this is a fair fight.
Peace: Maybe for you but I never used a sword before.
The sheriff just gives a loud laugh and manages to throw the BML at the wall and cuffs him.
Thomas: As for the rest of you grunts i'll give you ten seconds before I deal with the rest of you with this sword.
The grunts quickly leave due to the capture of there leader.
Thomas: Thanks for the help (to Peace) and you two Amy Grizzly gets stronger every time I see him. Now whats your name son.
Peace: My name is Peace and I have a question for you when we get to town.
They all leave the fields that are now bandit free and pass by Shade who is now back to normal and is standing on a passed out Ny'verne. They make it back to town at the sheriff's office.
Peace: I would like to report a missing person.
