I finished a battle with a Zolnixi a few minutes ago, and the rewards page said I had obtained/won 3 Zolnixi Essences (the image had a little 3 in the corner). I'd had two in my inventory already, and when I checked my inventory afterwards, only one had been added (for a new total of 3).
Either I'm missing two Essences, or the rewards page was displaying the new total of Essences in my inventory, rather than how many I had actually won.

In battles, a Sylesti can only drop one essence (if it does). I must have it set to display the item from your inventory rather than when it was created - thus it showed 3 because you had a stack of 3. I will get that fixed up to avoid future confusion (and false excitement).
