As I gathered from my earlier post about the staff list here on Sylestia, there are only two staff positions: Administrator and Artist.
I was thinking, since many people tend to use the forums and the chatbox as a source of communication, there should be some sort of discipline whilst using the chats or forums, and users could apply for these positions and be assigned to carry this out. =) As the site's number of members grows, both areas would be hard for just two people to moderate.
Just a suggestion though, feel free to disagree ^^

@Wolf
At this time we have had literally zero problems with our user base. Which obviously, makes me incredibly proud and happy that we have attracted such nice and mature users to our website. I adore every single one of you that plays, waking up to interact with you guys everyday is so awesome. \o/
I'm sure that as we grow bigger that we might run into issues...but since we aren't having any at the moment I feel like hiring moderators would feel a bit overbearing.
When the time comes though to hire moderators it will be a lot different than the 'norm' of similar sites. We aren't going to have certain users be tagged as moderators. The 'moderators' will be on anonymous GM accounts and will moderate on those accounts. We will require our GMs to be 18+ and sign NDA contracts, there will be zero connections with their GM account and player account.
We have decided to do it that way because of how many problems I have seen on other sites when it comes to things like cliques/favoritism. Plus how it makes it difficult for the moderator to keep functioning as a regular user. I personally would think it would look bad if say a moderator won one of our forum games...even though I use random.org and if their name came up on top it would technically be 100% fair. But because they are a moderator there would always be that nagging suspicion at the back of user's minds though that I had unfairly awarded them a prize.
So, I feel like a good way to solve a lot of the problems that come with tagged player moderators would be to handle it that way...on anonymous GM accounts. That way no one knows who they are and they can continue being a normal user on the website without any type of drawbacks.
So to your answer, yes we will have moderators when the time comes that I feel like our site needs them. We will just being doing things a bit more differently than how other websites handle it.

Fai, you got such a nice idea on Mods!~
It's true it's so hard for Mods to enjoy the
games normally after they're known as mod~ P=
(I once became one on an online game and it
was horrible, I didn't even had time to learn
about the coding and plugin of the game, tons
of people though I got there because I donated
money or anything or was rl friend with the
Admin~ I never entered in any of those
conditions~ >X<")

A very creative way of doing this! I applaud your creativity, Faiona~ c: I think this would be the best way to carry things out as well.
