There was always a story that was passed down for many generations. The story of two Ny'venes that always fought and never stopped. War was never ending back then, When the two ancient beasts Life and Death crossed paths in the sky.
"Death. You are still as dull as ever. When are you going to stop taking lives away from those I give it to?" Life asks her opposing force.
"Life, your ignorance is unbarring, I will only stop when you stop giving life to those I take it from." Death answers his counterpart.
"Then it seems we will never be at peace." Life answers as she beats her wings to fly higher then Death.
Death flue lower sending his skull spirits to collect the souls of those he says must die. Life sent her flames to a young child, one of age 10 who had been killed by a bandit. The child looked to her and thanked her as it went to it's mother.
Death growled from behind the clustered trees of his dark forest, "She is always so kind and never angry. It sickens me to see her every day." He growls.
Life continued to spread her life giving flames to those who needed it most. But one day, while she had stopped by a pond made by melting snow from the mountains, a band of death followers captured the white beast.
Death, unaware of the sudden danger to the Female, was watching over the child she had given life to. He had been the one that killed the one who did it.
A knife came to the neck of the white dragon before red stained her light colored scales. The followers chanted in joy knowing Death could rain over the land.
Now aware of a death, the black dragon flue to the sight. When his red eyes landed on the white dragoness, his skull spirits stole the lives of the followers and Death stood beside the dead female. He searched for a way to bring her back, his skulls slowly growing weak from his sorrow, shattered one of the smaller ones. It's flames turned blue and burned the white female creating her form from the smoke before her cry pierced the male's ears.
"You..." The white beast began, "You saved me?" She asks.
"No, I saved myself." He says.
Her eyes saddened as she spreads her wings to stand, "I see." She says.
"By saving you, I saved my heart." He says looking at her with his red eyes filling with sorrow and for once...love.
The two flue together, ruling the world with their powers. Forever keeping balance between the two.

Kasai's Sky

Kasai, a lone Ny'vene and descendent of Life and Death, rises from her cave hidden deep within the forbidden mountains. Behind her, four hatchlings followed clumsily along.

The first of the clutch was a male of dark blue and blood red. His eyes bright with excitement and strength. His name was Dark Shade, the first to hatch of the four, he was a bit overwhelming with dominance to his siblings.

Following Dark Shade, was a dark black dragon with dark blue along his scales like smoke, this one was named Spark Night. His eyes a almost glowing yellow like his mother's. Not as demanding as his older clutchmate, he was still a handful as he liked to follow Dark Shade around and copy him.

Trudging behind the two wild ones, was White Streak. The third born, he saw no reason to hold himself as stronger, so he focused on skills. He knew how to fly from watching his mother and was usually the first to figure something out. Like his name suggests, he is a black male with white streaks throughout his body, his deep dark eyes showed interest in everything. His pace slowed as he turned to the cave opening.

Timidly, the last of the clutchlings came forth. This small white female was named Sky. Her light blue marking matched her mothers and siblings with the only difference being color. Her eyes showed her one weakness, the poor female was blind. White Streak walked over, holding out one of his wings to her so she knew he was there. She looked to him and Dark Shade quickly ran over with Spark Night following close behind. The two nipped at the young female as White Streak tried his best to get them away. upon hearing the helpless cries of her youngest child, Kasai nudged the two older males away. She looks down upon her territory and finds her hunting spot was filled with pray. More importantly, enough hiding places for her and her hatchlings. This would be their first hunt, however, she was concerned for her youngest. Usually a mother of a blind hatchling would have killed it the moment it was born. But Kasai was not going to do that. She picked up her youngest and flue down to the hunting spot with the three males following close behind her. She sat down the youngling and made her way closer to a group of Faelora. The lead male of the herd was fighting off a challenger while a group of females were grazing. One female was alone, due to it being spring, she knew it was because she had a youngling. She could see the young one by itself. She got ready and charged at the adult female, catching it in her jaws and grabbing the youngling with her talons. Dropping the young one before her own, she landed and pinned her own catch to the ground and began to eat. The three males followed what she did and practiced on the young Faelora. It was Dark Shade who put an end to the game of practice hunting. Kasai watched her youngest one try to get a bite only to be snapped at by the two older ones, White Streak tore a chunk off for her and himself after making sure the older two were not looking. Kasai was going to have to teach her young one to fight for herself. however difficult it may be.

However, this was not to be. A large male Ny'vene came rushing down and landed before the family. White Streak nudged his sister to hide as he and the older hatchlings hid with her. The male however, snagged Night Spark just before he could hide. In seconds, the young male was gone. Kasai through back her head and roared at the adult male, challenging him as he searched for the other three. The male, Rage, looked to her and charged. He was going to claim her as his own. Kasai Breathed fire onto the male making him screech in pain from the burn on his face. His left eye closed as he attempted to open it. Unlucky for Kasai, he did and it was ok. The burn had only gotten just to the corner of his eye missing it my inches and scorching his bone armor. Seeing his mother in danger, Dark Shade flue at the male clawing at his burn and trying to get to his eye. The male swatted him away and want after him only to be nocked to the ground by Kasai. Her quad arms stretched to grab his wing as she bit down on the fragile bone. He screeched once more and bit down on her left ankle making her release his wing and cry out. The forest animals she prayed on ran from the two fighting Ny'venes as the male went after Dark Shade again. The female trying her best to defend them as she limped towards him. He grabbed the oldest hatchling and slung him to the ground, wounding the still small youngling badly. He let out his fiery breath to finish off the wounded young Ny'vene. It's screams of pain echoing in his mother's head as she closed her eyes and turned her head. She cried to the male trying to get him to leave her last two alone as he had spotted White Streak and Sky trying to hide in a bush. The male went for the last male hatchling but was burned by blue flames scorching his lower jaw. He reared his head back and shook it to remove the flames. The youngest of the four, blind and weak from fright, had rose up on her hind legs and had defended her now only brother. Her blue eyes gazing at where Rage stood. Kasai stood shocked, Never before had a Ny'vene been born with blue flames. Only dragon known to have such flames, was Life. The male, still wanting Kasai, Took thought to this. He turned to Kasai and granted her the lives of her last two in exchange for her to bear his own. She agreed in fear of losing her last two.

A statue stood in the center of the stadium, where two fighters stood facing one another. One dressed in purple and black,

The other dressed in Black and red. The two were going to fight for the prize of this year's prize. A Ny'vene egg. The one dressed in Dragon Stalker clothing was sure wanting to win, but the challenger was not going to go down without a long and hard fight.
The announcer spoke, "Welcome ladies and gentlemen! Today we gather for the annual strongest warrior fight. The winner this year gets a special prize, a dragon egg found in the forest! The two remaining challengers are!...In the Dragon Stalker outfit, Prince Hunter Alexander! His challenger...a Warrior of unknown past, the Night Stalker!"
Night Stalker made the first move as soon as the fight began. Jabbing the blade into the Prince's side cutting him deep enough to draw blood and stun him for a few, but not to deep to end his life. Night stuck swift blows waiting for the Prince to tire of trying to block and attack. The prince went and slashed his katana across catching Night off guard by cutting into the chest. Night let out a hushed and muffled scream of agony before thrusting the sword at the prince getting him on the arm. The battle continued to drag on as neither side gave in. Night was bleeding from many wounds and stinging bruises all over the body made Night slowly start to sway and go in and out of conciseness. Night did a last ditch efferent to win and stabbed the sword into the Prince's leg making him fall onto his back. Night seeing this, stood with what little strength remained and walked to the king and queen. They handed the egg to Night.
"Will you saw your name and what you plan to do with the egg?" The king asks.
Night pulled off the mask hiding her face and smiled with a small trail of blood slipping from the left corner of her mouth.
"I am Night Stalker, the Dragon protector. I plan to raise the egg and let it be free once it has all it's strength." She says.
The shocked royals looked at her as she turned and walked away, few tales are told without mention of the Dragon Protector as it is said that when she was about to fall, the statue's eyes glowed. The egg itself became a exact replica of the dragon the statue was made to represent.

The story has some very basic spelling/grammar errors, (e.g. flue -> flew), but other than that, this story seems to be great so far. Will continue to read as you write more. Ah, and I love seeing the pictures of sylestis and avatars paired up with the story. It really helps imagine the setting.
