The girl ran through the ball, desperate to get out, but she was the prettiest girl there, all the boys wanted to dance with her. The clock struck three times. It's 11:30 she thought. She knew at midnight, she would turn back. That was her curse. All of her kind were born with one.Why couldn't her's be a simple one? She checked her watch. 11:45. 15 minutes to get out. The door! She got to it. As she ran to the forest, she felt herself turning back. That was her curse.

She made it. It was close. She couldn't wait for nighttime. Then she would be her, the one all the human boys talked about. She closed her eyes, wanting it to come sooner. Fail... Now she really wished Dawn was here. Her old human. She was the only one who understood her curse. She was getting tired so she closed here eyes and slept.

She woke at night, as a human.

"Yes!" She said, just loud enough so that Dusk, her prince charming, her mate, could hear her.

"My darling, shall we go to the ball?" he asked her.
"Yes." She said, blushing, even though he asked her this every night.
Dusk also had the power to manipulate. That's how the ball's open every night.
