Introduction: A figure ran past the trees, faster than anything else in the forest, a shadow looming behind the figure. The figure turned, still running, and the black hood covering it's face was blown off by the wind. It whipped out a dagger and threw it at the shadow. It grabbed the dagger in a black tendril and the dagger was engulfed. The figure stopped and stood before the shadow, which also stopped and reared up. The figure braced itself, feet digging into the ground, cloak billowing in the wind, as it raised it's hands. A blast of purple magic flew towards the shadow...

Kiara woke up in her bed and sat up. She got up, her bare feet slipping across the stone floor of the mansion. She grabbed her velvet cloak and wrapped it around her shoulders. Kiara tiptoed back to her bed and stared out of the window. Her eyes half-closed, she nearly fell asleep until a shard of purple light flew up from the Evershadow Woods.

Kiara scrambled to her feet, eyes wide awake again. She threw her Aurleon feather pillow aside and jumped out of the stone window. Her cloak billowed around her, it's hood flapping in the wind, Kiara sailed downward until her bare feet hit the ground. She looked up and ran for the Woods.
