I never thought much of the stars until now...They're so far away....

I reach my hand up like I might try and catch one.

A star...two years of light travel...It takes two years for us to see what happened to that star.... Always looking into the past to see what happened to a star.... Are stars... Just that lonely?

I close my hand with a small smile, the moonless dark night was full of stars here. The grass beneath me was thick with dew, my shirt becoming wet as I laid there, staring up at the stars old news, Like I was in a history lesson... Or a fairytale....

But if that were true I wouldn't be here, alone with my family back in town, the car crashed into a tree a few yards away, and blood all over. This is no Fairytale, this is the reality of my life.

Cold...Depressed...Lonely....

Just like the stars, who are always two years late...

I sit up slowly, looking about at the trees around me, the ones that seem to lean and sway to unheard music in the wind,dropping leaves like little gifts of peace and welcome to me. The leaves land in my thick brown hair, I brush them away as I stand, picking up my bag of clothes and meager food.

I can't go back now, I have to keep going.

I start off into the woods, whispers on the wind of the strange brown haired girl in the forest spreading through the air, I push in deeper, vanishing from this world I knew into another.

A world like a Fairytale, full of magic and mystery... But I didn't know that yet, all I could think about was how lonely the stars were.

How lonely I was becoming...


Two years to see anything... I'll return in two years, like nothing happened...
