so i was yapping about stables in region chat and i think a lot of us can agree that buying stable tabs can get.... a little pricey.

for starters, the stables themselves are not the easiest to get without disposable real-life income. yes, you can get them from the diamond shop, forum games, and the progressive bonus (which also basically requires spending irl money). however it's only the winners of forum games (typically only 3 players) out of all that participate, and the progressive bonus requires spending (1k? 2k? i don't remember exactly) diamonds to reach that first threshold of a free stable.

now let's look at the prices of tabs. you start with one free tab per stable - great! tab 2 costs 20k, not bad at all, very manageable for new players. tab 3 costs 60k, also not the worst, you'll have to work a bit for it but it's doable with some elbow grease. and then it starts doubling from there, and you have....

tab 1 - free
tab 2 - 20k
tab 3 - 60k
tab 4 - 120k
tab 5 - 240k
tab 6 - 480k
tab 7 - 480k
tab 8 - 480k

that's nearly 1.5 mil for the last three tabs alone. big yikes. overall total - 1,880,000 gold for a full stable.

we all remember being new - collecting all these nice shiny pets was so cool! but being new, i felt so overwhelmed and honestly kind of defeated after tab 3. a HUGE part of this game is the themed pets. we get 17 new zone themed and 25 new sculpting themed every seasonal festival - not including the aged themes, special zone event themes, and other special themes per fest (ex. ocean glow kelpari and tree frog sylvorpa from summer festival's beach feature). that is the possibility of over fifty unique themed from ONE seasonal festival for a new player, and that's if you collect just one of every themed. lots of us like pairs which already doubles that massive number.

so, i think it would be nice if tabs increased by a set amount instead of doubling. following azulya's suggestion of a steady 30k increase per tab, it would be as follows....

tab 1- free
tab 2 - 20k
tab 3 - 50k
tab 4 - 80k
tab 5 - 120k
tab 6 - 150k
tab 7 - 180k
tab 8 - 210k

overall total - 810,000 gold for a full stable. much better, if you ask me.

stables are honestly too difficult to come by to justify such high prices for tabs. the easiest fix would be to make the tabs cheaper, which would make the game much friendlier to new players and old players alike. there's also the imminent breeding grounds update to consider - lessening stable tab fees may help mitigate any issues that arise with the incoming set fee for every breeding, which, let's be honest, however small the fee, that's definitely going to add up over time, sooner for some than others.

I would love for this to be a thing but stables are a gold sink and i feel like Krin isnt likely going to want to change that. Out of my 108 stables, 74 are 8 tab (if i counted right). That means i have spent 139.12 million gold on stable tabs. That gold would be either stored in currency exchange or put into the market in some way or another without that sink. And thats just the fully upgraded stables. Most of my stables are at least 5 tabs. So we can reasonably estimate i have spent 150m+ on stable upgrades. Say 10 people are like me with upgraded stables and upgrades were 1m+ cheaper for each stable to be upgraded.... that would greatly reduce the gold being sunk into the site and we would start to see people paying more for regular things and would see inflation like in the real world. while i wish i could pay less for stables i dont think it would be good for the economy and thus this is a pass for me, as much as i wish it could be done. I feel in the long run its better for the site to leave stables as the huge gold sink they are. And If anyone needs help upgrading some stables feel free to send me a cod for 80k so you can unlock some stables. I have enough on hand gold to help 30 people unlock their first 3 tabs :) I dont mind helping
