I admit I am not fully done, an need more stock, but I wanna at least have an idea.

Also, I do take unwanted sylesti as donations.
I wanna help them find the right home.

Making a thread in a Marketplace forum is, essentially, its own advertisement. For a little more visibility, people sometimes share their sales threads in Region Chat or list them in the About Me section of their profile.

To my knowledge, there isn't exactly a designated place for advertising. You've already got your shop in the pet marketplace forum, which is good - I would suggest posting about it in the marketplace on the Sylestia Discord (there's a button to join the Discord on the Sylestia homepage) and/or mentioning it in the region chat accessible in the festival zone (not really a "place for advertising," per se, but people read it a lot and I've seen people advertise there).

To make a link in your profile's About Me, you need to type in the same things as you would in the forums or messages, but there aren't the little buttons - you can compose/type out your About Me in a forum post and then paste it from the editor into your profile instead of actually posting it (that's what I did to get a link in mine). You can also create a link manually by typing "url" with brackets [ ] instead of the quotation marks before the url you want to link and then "/url" with brackets instead of quotation marks after.

It's also possible to create a text button link, it's just a little more complicated - you put "url=" and your link url in brackets before the text you want to make into a link and "/url" after.
For example, I could make a link to this thread:

EDIT: As Scathreoite pointed out below, the system for adding text links is slightly different in messages and profiles than in the forums, so for a profile link my example would actually look like this:

It looks like Insect answered your question well! As a side note, I wanted to add that if you want someone to receive a notification in the forums, instead of quoting their post you want to ping them, either with the ping icon on their post

or by typing their username in the "Ping Users" box :)

I feel like it should be clarified, the profile pages use the same tags as Messages, which aren't quite the same on all fronts as the Forums (because Krin built them at different times I assume), for example, personalised text url linking in the Forum uses 'URL=' button's [*url=][*/url] while Messages and Profiles use 'Add Link' button's [*urllink=][*/urllink]

This does mean when drafting your profile, you can do it in a blank PM to have access to the buttons and the ability to preview
