Bluefire, a starter Sylesti, was given to Ember when she was young. Despite her large wings, Bluefire actually cant fly, as it was never something Ember was able to show her how to do. While this is considered quite odd to others of her species, Bluefire hardly minds, and prefers to utilize them as though they were a shield.
Once she and Ember decided to take their journey, this actually became perfect for her, and as a result, Bluefire served as a faithful, determined tank for as many days as she could. On any given team, Bluefire is always the most upbeat, the first to comfort, and last to back down. She is friendly and affectionate with both Ember and their first new companion, Fierce. Whether or not she and Fierce are mates or best friends is something that hardly concerns her, shes just happy to enjoy his company. Or anyones company, quite frankly.
She is welcoming to whoever is brought into the stables and loves to show them around, even if theyll only stay for a moment. Out of all of Embers Sylestis, Bluefire is the most secure and patient, never worried about her owners love for her.
When together, they enter the Lost Grove, they both know that its time for Bluefire to retire. Though she had been there for every raid, every dungeon, and every knock-out, Ember couldnt watch her be beaten by the otherworldly creatures that hid there.
At first, Bluefire is resistant, though she knows she cant do it. Concerned for Embers safety, she insists on sticking around. However, it isnt long before she sustains a severe injury, and she has to admit defeat.
She takes her new life with just as much vigor and charm as she always had, and sustains Embers stables while shes away. Always the first to check in on the hatchlings, purr good mornings, and tell a good story, Bluefire is an expert keeper of the peace. Her companion, Fierce, is never far behind her, though she teases him for fretting so much.

Fierce
Fierce is Embers first tamed Sylesti, and needless to say, he was less than pleased about it. It wasnt so much him minding company, because hes always pleased to see another Vulnyx, but oh, boy. Caught by a child? It was enough to make him want to die of shame. How had it come to this.
Despite his originally bad attitude, Ember thinks him to be one of the prettiest Sylestis shes ever seen. Though clearly difficult for her, she allows him space to adjust, and eventually wears him down with enough praise and good food. Ultimately, Fierce finds he doesnt mind so much as long as he still gets his adventures. And do they ever.
Headstrong and a bit reckless, Fierce is the glass cannon of the group. He loves to hit hard and fast and hopes he makes it out. Luckily for him, Bluefire is really good at her job. Together, they make a team that Ember cherishes long after they can fight. Though his gruff exterior never really left him, he can be found enjoying a sunny spot with Bluefire, or even tucked up next to Ember on a cold night.
Once they entire Umbra Forest, though, his alertness increases tenfold. He finds it hard to part from Bluefire or Ember, and a general sense of unease makes him a little more jumpy than he had been before. He eventually acclimates, but the habits stay with him, and hes always the one taking initiative for guard duty.
His lack of self preservation coupled with years of strain lead to Ember taking him out of her party, something Fierce has a hard time getting over. He knows she doesnt want him to get hurt, but he cant stand to be cooped up. So he chooses not to be. While Ember and Bluefire are out and about, Fierce busies himself exploring, though he still does his best to avoid conflict.
Once Bluefire retires with him, Fierce finds it in himself to settle down. Staying home isnt so bad with good company. He says he finds her hatchling check-ins annoying, but deep down he finds their energy endearing. Its a lot like Bluefires.

Serephine
Serephine was Ember's first ever specially bred max-stat pet, graciously discounted by Xavion. It might be safe to say that this went to Serephine's head a little bit. She was quite pleased at how impressed Ember was with her strength, proud of how much she progressed the whole team in adventuring just by being around. Unfortunately, this was not without its drawbacks, as Serephine turned out to be a questionable team player.
Once it was time for Fierce to retire, they were joined by Charlie, a Lighira Ember had trained to be the team's healer. Serephine was not especially fond of this. With the team more balanced, she finds her talents stand out less, and it doesn't take long for her to become jealous.
To make things worse, Charlie doesn't even seem to notice her competitiveness, which makes her all the more annoyed with him. She decides to take out her frustration on their enemies instead, taking comfort in the fact that, at the very least, Charlie doesn't seem to be particularly cuddly with Ember. Maybe he's not the favorite after all.
Eventually though, they find themselves entering the Lost Grove, leading Ember to evaluate their team once again. To her delight, after Bluefire's injury, Charlie retires too! Finally, Serephine's time to shine again. Her elation is short lived however, as Ember buys two new max-stats to join her: Theodora and Eurydice.
There are no words for her disappointment. Not only does she have to continue sharing her starring role in combat, but now she's not special either. To make matters worse, she thinks to herself, Theodora is a much more intimidating and powerful Lighira than Charlie was. At least Charlie was just a healer.
Eurydice is friendly and charming with Serephine, she almost can't help but like her just a little bit in spite of herself. So she does her best to maintain polite with her. Theodora, however, seems to pick up on Serephine's resentment almost instantly, thus beginning their tumultuous teamwork.
While Charlie ignored any passive aggressive commentary Serephine might make towards him, Theodora stands for nothing, further fueling her anger. Charlie didn't make any special attempts to hang out or bond with Ember, but Theodora is not intimidated by Serephine's glares to stay away and is friendly with her anyway. It makes her absolutely livid. She was here first!
Things reach a boiling point one day while out training one day in the Lost Grove, in combat against a simple Forest Sprite. Instinctually, Serephine makes a snide comment about a blow that Theodora takes, expecting the usual sharp comment in return. Instead, Theodora finishes the Sprite off herself and turns on her, telling her that if she has such a problem with her then they can work it out right now. Shouldn't be hard for Serephine, surely, since she is of course the strongest, most favored one here.
For the first time in quite awhile, Serephine finds herself afraid, though she hides it well. To turn down the challenge would be embarrassing, especially after all her talk. Yet accepting was impossible, Theodora was a tank, she was made to outlive anyone in combat. There was no way she would win.
Without fully thinking it through, Serephine launches herself at her. It feels like hitting a wall. Not only is the Lighira much bigger than her, but also much more accustomed to being hit head on. Determined to put up a fight, she snaps and claws at her, ignoring how useless the attempts are against her firm underbelly. It isn't long before she feels Theodora's teeth in her shoulder, tossing her away. Even still, Serephine can feel how gently she does it, how much strength she holds back. Infuriated and overwhelmed, Serephine turns and runs away, out of the the Lost Grove, all the way back to camp until she collapses, completely exhausted.
She doesn't know how many hours goes by, but when she hears someone approaching, she ignores them, staying curled up in her nest instead. Serephine can tell its Bluefire, but is in no mood for the battle-worn Sylesti's wise words or chastisement. But Bluefire offers neither, instead settling down beside her for company, seemingly with no ulterior motive. Serephine is not one for affection with other Sylesti's, but she knows she's already in trouble, definitely in no position to be aggressive with Bluefire. So she lets her rest her tail comfortingly on her while they wait for Ember to return.
When she does, she's accompanied by Eurydice, Theodora nowhere to be found. Eurydice heals the bite mark, though it wasn't very deep, and asks softly if Serephine is alright. The look in her eyes tells her that Eurydice isn't asking about her wound, which annoys her, and she can't help but snap at her. Bluefire doesn't seem surprised by this, and though Eurydice seems a bit taken aback, she doesn't leave.
It ends up being a long night of talking. By morning, all of the anger has drained away, leaving Serephine more exhausted than before. Before she knows it, she's asleep, and when she wakes up again, it's not Bluefire or Eurydice that accompanies her, but Theodora.
Serephine can't even bring herself to look at her, but Theodora doesn't seem to require that to start talking. She says it's not a big deal. They don't have to be friends if she doesn't want. Whatever Serephine wants, however, can't be more important that other people's wellbeing. Though Serephine is filled with shame, she can't help but notice how kind her voice is, considering she's speaking to her attacker. She apologizes, says she doesn't know how she became so jealous. It won't happen again.
When it's time to go out again, the three of them assemble, but Ember seems hesitant. Serephine can't help but hang her head, knowing it's her fault. But Theodora and Eurydice are insistent on her coming, Eurydice wraps her tail up with hers and makes an absolutely ridiculous face at her, and Serephine can't help but giggle at it.
Apparently seeing the three of them get along was all Ember needed. From that point forward, they were nothing but a powerhouse together. Serephine finds life much more fun with friends in it.
