Overview:
Sylestia's Warriors is a fanfiction based upon the imagination of my younger self. I am re-writing this story from a book I had when I was younger. I will take any advice and suggestions as well as character inserts.
This story was never finished because I was told to 'grow up' or that 'liking writing is odd/weird.' I was told that this game is only for kids... That I couldn't like something so childish.
I'm writing this to prove that, as a 17-year-old, I can like whatever I want!
I intend on finishing it this time...
Will you join in Sylestia's Warriors?

Chapter One
I was a young warrior, a guardian of the forest and its people. When the corrupted came, I didn't run or hide. I fought alongside several other warriors, their teeth gnashing and claws sharpened. We were ready for a fight. My name is Solorus, and I... I am one of the last remaining warriors of this world... I am here to tell our story. To write the names of the fallen in history.
When I awoke that day, everything seemed normal. Being a young hatchling, I was full of life and vigor. I would often spar with the other hatchlings, making my mother concerned for my well-being. I remember my mother calling for me to talk to me. She knew I was growing into adolescence and felt scared about my future. I told her not to worry. After all, I was stronger than she knew. When I turned back to the other hatchlings, I saw something odd. The hatchlings were running, but not playfully. They were overwhelmed with fear. I prepared myself for a fight, but my mother hid me behind her. She told me to run, to hide anywhere but in the glade. I shook my head, but she screamed, "Now!" I did as I was told, but not without looking back and seeing my mother getting attacked by a corrupted.
Several years passed after that day, and the corrupted grew stronger with each day. On the day I became an adult, it happened again, but this time, I wasn't hiding. I had heard the screaming of the creatures that were being chased. A young ferrikki found itself trapped inside a hole in a tree. I rushed to his aid, head butting the corrupted away from the ferrikki. I clawed the corrupted, making its black smoke ooze. The young ferrikki ran, leaving me to fight the now angry corrupted. I kept attacking, making more of its black smoke ooze. I heard screams from behind me, and I rushed to help. Two corrupted were making their way towards the home-tree. I clawed and bit the corrupted, their bodies turning into nothing but bone and smoke. I growled in anger and frustration as more tried to get to the home-tree.
I remember a blinding light coming over the area, and the corrupted turning into nothing but bone and smoke. That's when it happened. I met others that were like me. Others that wanted to fight the corrupted, not just leave them to destroy this world, we called home. They called themselves, "Sylestia's Warriors." I remember fainting, watching everything turn black.

Chapter Two
I remember waking up in a medical area. The medical area I was in seemed new, man-made, and different. I remember thinking, "Where am I?" before I saw the young ferrikki again. I tried to stand up, but I was ensnared in roots. Another Zolnixi had noticed me moving and walked over to me. He smiled warmly and, somehow, cut the roots away. I stared in awe as he slashed the roots with some kind of magic. After getting me loose, his expression changed from a smile to confusion.
"Who are you?" He asked me. I stared at him as though he had spoken another language. He tilted his head as I realized what he had asked. I barely got the word, "Solorus," out. He nodded and took a good look at me. He continued to ask questions like, "Why were you in the glade?" And "Why did you try to stop the corrupted?" I didn't know who he was, but I felt that I could trust him. I explained that I was in the grove preparing for an outing, when the corrupted attacked. He only nodded and left.
I watched him leave and join several others. I heard him say my name, but before I could hear anymore of what they were saying, a fairy flew over to me. She asked if I was okay and if I needed anything. I shook my head and told her everything was fine. She smiled and took a quick look at me. She then flew off. Before I got a chance to think, the young ferrikki ran up to me. I remember the smile they had on their face as they introduced me to their mother.
"Thank you for saving Chip," The mother said, a smile on her face and a tear rolling down her cheek. I smiled and said, "It's no problem, I'm glad I could help." The ferrikki, whom I had just learned their name was Chip, gave me a hug and called me their hero. I will never forget that day as long as I live.
When they left, I got a second to myself. I stood up and grabbed my bag, the small potions inside still closed. I remember thinking, "What an odd day," before heading back to my part of the woods. I lived in Fungus Grove, a little ways past the old oak tree and past the spring lake. It wasn't a large hole, but it was the only one I had. I remember placing the bag on my bed, the potions falling out, and flopping down in front of the fireplace. I remember smiling and taking a moment to relax before someone knocked on my door. I stood up and opened the door to find the Zolnixi from earlier on my doorstep.
"Can I come in?" He asked. I remember nodding and allowing him in my home. He started talking to me about the bright light that I saw before I passed out. He asked me if I knew where it came from. When I told hom I didn't, he nodded and hummed in response. He told me about abilities that the creatures of light could have. Fire, water, earth, air, dark, and light. He then asked if I knew what I was. When I told him I didn't have any of these 'powers', he laughed. He then said, "You caused that light. Your power is light." I just shook my head and said, "No." He asked what I meant by, "No," and told me to elaborate. I then said, "I don't have 'powers,' all I have is several years of fighting the corrupted." He nodded and stood.
"If you won't believe me, then there is no point in asking you to help us fight the corrupted." He sighed as he walked out of my house. I didn't know what to think. I wanted to end the corrupted's reign, but I didn't believe in this 'magical abilities' stuff. I remember rushing up to him after a few seconds of thinking and asking, "When do I start?"
