Here's a simple, quick guide to making a six visible pet. I'll admit I explain things oddly sometimes, so feel free to point out any flaws or ask any questions.

I'm going to show the best possible outcomes. These are what you need to keep trying for.

Visual: Have trouble understanding it, just by reading it? The awesome user Flute made a lovely little visual guide to match~ Click for full size. You'll need to look at both the written and the image to use the image, so you know what to plug in where. Big thanks to Flute for this, though, since I know there are people who understand better visually.

Key:
Gen - Generation
Gene - Pet Gene Slot
Mut - Pet Mut Slot
(c) - Carried trait
(v) - Visible Trait

Start - What to generate if you're using Regular essences:

Generated pet one (Gene 1 Gene 2) will be bred with Generated pet two (Gene 3 Mut 1)

Generated pet three (Gene 1 Gene 2) will be bred with Generated pet four (Mut 2 Mut 3)

Generated pet five (Gene 3 Mut 1) will be bred with Generated pet six (Mut 2 Mut 3)

Generated pet seven (Gene 1 Gene 2) will be bred with Generated pet eight (Gene 3 Mut 1)

Generated pet nine (Gene 1 Gene 3) will be bred with Generated pet ten (Mut 1 Mut 2)

Generated pet eleven (Gene 2 Gene 3) will be bred with Generated pet twelve (Mut 2 Mut 3)

Generated pet thirteen (Gene 1 Gene 2) will be bred with Generated pet fourteen (Mut 2 Mut 3)

Generated pet fifteen (Gene 2 Gene 3) will be bred with Generated pet sixteen (Mut 1 Mut 3)

Afterwards, your next bests would be the ones below, that are also used for the better essences.

Step 1 - What to generate if you're using Enhanced or Mystical essences.

pair one = gene 1 gene 2 gene 3 mut 1
pair two = gene 1 gene 2 mut 2 mut 3

pair three = gene 3 mut 1 mut 2 mut 3
pair four = gene 1 gene 2 gene 3 mut 1

pair five = gene 1 gene 3 mut 1 mut 2
pair six = gene 2 gene 3 mut 2 mut 3

pair seven = gene 1 gene 2 mut 2 mut 3
pair eight = gene 2 gene 3 mut 1 mut 3

Step 2 -

pair one + pair two = Gene 1(v) Gene 2(v) Gene 3(c) Mut 1(c) Mut 2(c) Mut 3(c) (Now referred to as Generation 1-1)

pair three + pair four = Gene 1(c) Gene 2(c) Gene 3(v) Mut 1(v) Mut 2(c) Mut 3(c) (Now referred to as Generation 1-2)

pair five + pair six = Gene 1(c) Gene 2(c) Gene 3(v) Mut 1(c) Mut 2(v) Mut 3(c) (Now referred to as Generation 1-3)

pair seven + pair eight = Gene 1(c) Gene 2(v) Gene 3(c) Mut 1(c) Mut 2(c) Mut 3(v) (Now referred to as Generation 1-4)

Breed Generation 1-1 with Generation 1-2. Breed Generation 1-3 with Generation 1-4. By this point, the six visible can happen, but the traits that don't have a visible in either pair might be a little stubborn.

Step 3 - This will show when the traits that did not have a visible in either side of the pair still carry.

Gen 1-1 + Gen 1-2 = Gene 1(v) Gene 2(v) Gene 3(v) Mut 1(v) Mut 2(c) Mut 3(c) (Now referred to as Generation 2-1)

Gen 1-3 + Gen 1-4 = Gene 1(c) Gene 2(v) Gene 3(v) Mut 1(c) Mut 2(v) Mut 3(v) (Now referred to as Generation 2-2)

Step 4 - Now we breed those two together. This should easily produce the six visible pet. If you want a six vis breeding pair, you must repeat 2, and then step 3. If you get the six visibles without going to step 3, then you do not need to repeat any steps.

Hope this helped!

Thank you so much! I was always pretty confused when it came to breeding, but I think I get it a little better now. I didn't think there had to be so many... But i'll keep it in mind if I start a 6-vis project soon!

This is helpful. I admittedly got Tad by sheer luck, just randomly combining pets xD

Now that there's a guide to it though, I might turn it more into a science. Or maybe not. I kind of like random results xD

True, Aprin, you can do it with less, but it's more complicated and takes more time. XD Glad you are able to understand better now! :3

Diablo, Yeah, it is fun to get things by luck. It's actually how I've gotten my six vis pets. (Well, luck, and super excessive breeding ^^') But this way, if you want a project with like, certain super pretty projects, it makes a nice neat pathway to it :3 Okay, maybe not so neat since some of my friends couldn't understand it, but if you guys can, awesome! XD So glad you both like it, though~

Wanted to say, I got bored one day and made a visual tree of your plan. xD

Wish it was bigger. ;A; (stupid app wouldn't have it any other way...)

edit: I'll just put a clickable link to the picture for the bigger, fuller version.

I'm a newbie and trying to follow your guide.

When you say gen1 gen2 do you mean gene 1 visible and gene 2 visible or are they carried? Or does that matter?

I think gen1 and gen2 are the certain pets paired in Step 2. (They're in parentheses, saying "these will now be referred to as generation 1-1 or such)

pair one + pair two = Gene 1(v) Gene 2(v) Gene 3(c) Mut 1(c) Mut 2(c) Mut 3(c) (Now referred to as Generation 1-1)

This pair corresponds to ABcdef in my picture (in the G1 row, highlighted in salmon color aha)

pair three + pair four = Gene 1(c) Gene 2(c) Gene 3(v) Mut 1(v) Mut 2(c) Mut 3(c) (Now referred to as Generation 1-2)

Corresponds to abCDef in my picture.

Gen 1-1 + Gen 1-2 = Gene 1(v) Gene 2(v) Gene 3(v) Mut 1(v) Mut 2(c) Mut 3(c) (Now referred to as Generation 2-1)

Below the first two is the hoped result of breeding them, ABCDef.
