That's just it, I can't get past the dark elves no matter what I try. I thought it would be easy but they keep whooping me. I'm trying to get to the lost grove part as soon as I can, as it seems vital to events and some of the stuff you buy with diamonds.

What also may help, is making sure that your party pets have the proper gear on them. Having the right and good gear on your pets is very important, it'll make them signifcantly stronger and will make battling easier.

Ghosty has no gear on them, and as an Earth pet, he should have gear that focuses on Strength and Agility.

Frosting also has no gear on, and as a Fire pet, they should have gear focusing on Intelligence and Dexterity.

Kit Cat has gear on, but it seems to be a mixture of gear types. As an Air pet, they should have gear focusing on Strength and Dexterity.
They also have one proficiency point available to be assigned.

I went ahead and sent you some spare gear for each pet.

The Warden and Natureguard gear is for Ghosty.

The Pyromancer and Archon gear is for Frosting.

The Stormcaller and Primalist gear is for Kit Cat.

Ah! Thank you very much. I could have sworn I put armour on frosting and kit cat, but obviously I didn't.

I didn't know different armours could go better with different typings, though looking back it makes complete sense. I'll have to do some research.

Yep, different gear goes with different elements. I'm not the best versed in the earlier gear types, but once you reach the Lost Grove, these are what each gear type is supposed to match:

Warden - Earth

Pyromancer - Fire

Storm Caller - Air

Tidal Lord - Water

Reaver - Shadow

Lightbringer - Light
