"Nope, no siblings," Keegan stated blankly without even thinking about it. It technically wasn't a lie. He didn't have any siblings anymore anyway. He always had figured it was easier to straight up lie than to explain to people why he was evading their questions. "Ten years old hey?" he quickly tacked onto the end, keeping the conversation moving. "Does that mean you've been living out there by yourself since then?" he asked, mostly out of curiosity.

Haizea was quickly grew impatient with sitting around doing nothing. She wasn't used to being inactive at all. Springing from her seat she began pacing around the room, examining all of the other students. But every time she passed a certain spot, something bright shone in her eye. Eventually she located the source, noticing a boy sitting quietly by himself. "Excuse me, but why is there metal stuck in your ear?" she asked him (unaware of what earrings are).

Orion blushed for what might have been the first time in his life. "Did I really say that out loud? I did, didn't I."
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Now I'm going to have to tell her and... I misewell tell the truth. She would probably tell if I was lying. Orion decided to get it over with and said, "I said that I was glad no one else saw you crying because you would get embarrassed if the whole school saw you." He looked the other way, embarrassed.


(Oy. That wouldn't have been the first time.)

Ember giggled. "No, I liked it. I can't tell you how many times that's happened to me and my family." She realized she had probably provoked A'ine to ask her more. Well, I guess that's not a bad thing anymore is it? She pushed her hair back. She was beginning to feel more comfortable with A'ine, but she still felt awkward.


Astrid shook Oceanna's hand firmly. "Why not now? Misewell start sooner. I think we should pull of the prank tomorrow. It might be better to just check out the speakers today so we know what to do. What do you think?" she smiled. She had made a friend, and she happened to like making mischief.

Jora blushed when she noticed Orion blushing. After explaining he turned away. Jora touched his shoulder, trying to get him to turn back towards her, as she said, "Oh, you thought I'd be embarrassed if everyone else saw me? I wouldn't be embarrassed, I would have been angry at myself." Jora's blush deepened "My mother taught me to never hide how I feel. It just makes you seem heartless most of the time.... well that's what my mother thought." She turned back to looking at the front of the room, "Thank you for thinking that.I think that might have been the first time someone my age thought about my feelings."

A'ine sighed relived Ember understood, "Yeah? It's only happened to us once. Then again, we never lived near humans after that." A'ine looked over to her brother, and pointed to him, "You see that guy up there? That's my older brother..... My older twin brother, his name's A'eda'n." A'ine was grabbing at straws to keep up a conversation with Ember. "That was random. Um, do you like flying? I don't have wings but I was wondering if someone with them enjoyed flying as much as I enjoy swimming." Great A'ine! That was really random. Hopefully Ember doesn't mind random. It's been to long since I had a girl as a friend.

Alderic face palmed "That's good. You would have had to try hard to hurt me any way." He and Corwin finally reached the mess hall "Great! We're finally here. Maybe we can grab some grub and some seats." Alderic looked around for some seats for him and Corwin, "That's assuming you want to sit with me." Alderic found some seats near the front and pointed them out to Corwin. "There we go."

Kaya couldn't believe this girl also played the flute, "The flute? That's awesome that you can play two instruments, our mother taught me and Kala to play one each and Kali plays one, too. Oh what does she play?" Kaya asked herself and thought for a moment then remembered "Oh yeah, Kali plays the piccolo. It's exactly a small flute. I don't know if she brought it or not. I think she did."

Ilandere was horrified by what she had caused Keegan she could see he was very upset, "I actually do know some of my past, but it's not enough to go on. My very first memory was flying away from something, I only remember being scared... so scared" Ilandere combed her bangs up on her head with her hands revealing her scar, "It was awful.... I really didn't know what to do." Ilandere stood up quickly, "I'm so sorry, what ever I brought back from your past it must have been terrible." She walked away, hugging herself, knowing that Keegan probably didn't want to talk to her right then, or maybe never again.

Kala giggled a little, "I suppose it would be hard to hug them from here. I can't imagine my life with out my sisters..... of course that kind of makes sense seeing as we're triplets." Kala rocked on her feet feeling a little awkward without something to talk about. She decides upon the subject that she's most comfortable with, "So, Von, do you like music? I kind of have a love for music in my blood. My mother's a opera singer and my father plays almost every instrument I know of."

"Wow..." Corwin said blankly. "You've got a... a great family." he said, almost hesitating to speak. The thought of it made his eyes glow red. "Everyone here must have a great family..." he thought to himself. Corwin let out a sigh. "No worries, it wasn't boring. Let's just get some food." he said quickly. He didn't notice himself walking faster.

Lily looked at Eniko at giggled nervously. "Oh yes, thank you. It's just that everyone here is in human form." she said, trying to smile. "I just have this weird..." Lily paused, unsure of what to say. "...Human phobia kind of thing. I don't know. I've always been scared of humans ever since they drove my parents away." She looked down at her feet. "I remember running from them... Because they invaded they water nymph home." she said, shaking her head. "My memory is fuzzy. I'm not exactly sure what happened."

"A human mother?" Asher asked curiously. He didn't know much about them. The only fact he heard of was their dangerous side of the story. "Wasn't your dad aware of that? That she was human? I mean, I'm not against humans or anything. Because, you know the fact we're supposed to avoid them."

"Agreed!" Oceanna smiled widely. "I say, 'YES!'" she said, holding out her hand, waiting for a firm handshake. "When shall we start?"

Celeste shook her head. "Nope no questions. Just excited to meet new students! Another great year to come!" she said with enthusiasm.

Orion turned back to Jora. "And you're the first one who's been able to get me to show my feelings. Our parents must be quite different. I'm sorry if I sounded uncaring to you. My dad said that I shouldn't let people know my feelings because it would show my weaknesses. I guess I was a fool for listening to that." He smiled and found it felt good to allow it to stretch farther. He realized what she had said. "You shouldn't be mad at yourself for crying. And I didn't mean to say that you were weak, or a crybaby. I just didn't want you to get embarrassed." he realized how weird that had sounded.


"I love flying. You may have noticed, I'm a bit... shy. I feel more confident when I fly. I like swimming too, as a human of course." Ember liked this conversation. It seemed to wander and jump around, but at least it didn't make her go to deeply into one subject. "Hey, what class are you in?" Ember mentally chided herself. Seriously? You already forget the classes?

Jora looked at Orion in disbelieve, "No, you didn't sound cold at all. And you are no fool, so don't even think that at all." She smiled even brighter at Orion. Her blush deepened, "Thanks, again.... for caring. You wanna know something? I'm kind of glad you saw me crying." She really was glad she met Orion, however they met. "As a mater of fact, you're the nicest person I've ever met." She turned her hair, hiding her face again.

A'ine was glad Ember asked a question. "Oh, don't worry about that, I forget stuff all the time. I'm in equine class." A'ine sighed "Sometimes I wish I was like my brother. We don't know if he'll ever get to fly in monster form, but he's a kelp of a lot closer then I'll ever be!" A'ine realized she hadn't told Ember what A'eda'n was, Well, if she wants to know what I'm talking about, she'll ask.

Alderic turned to ask Corwin to ask him a question and noticed his eyes on a girl dressed in pink across the room, "Corwin, what do you want to bet that that girl's in our class?" Alderic thought for a second and came up with the perfect idea. "I'll bet you a dinner with my family and a free back stage show of our circus." Alderic thinks he thought of the perfect thing Even if I'm wrong, I'll ask him if he wants to come anyway. For Pete's sake we have to have a holiday or two off to visit our families! Alderic looked over at Corwin and noticed Corwin hadn't heard him so he waves his hand in front of Corwin's face, "Helloooo? Earth to Corwin? Did you hear me before?" Alderic doesn't wait for a reply and just repeats himself.

Kaya smiles at Azura, "Well, what if they do watch would that be the end of the world? I'm sure there are a few music lovers out there who would appreciate it." Kaya thought for a moment, "Well my mother is an opera singer and she has rubbed off on all of us. I enjoy singing parts of La Traviata, it is a sad opera but it's a favorite of mine."

Ilandere was so distracted as she was walking, she bumped into a girl. "I am so sorry." She tried to go around the girl but she had grabbed her arm. "Tell me what's wrong." The girl turned back to the girl she was talking to and said "Sorry, Ember, I think this girl needs a friend." The girl turned back to Ilandere and said, "Well go ahead, start talking." the girl listened intently while Ilandere explained what had happened, by the end of it Ilandere had told the girl her name and leard that the girl's name was A'ine. "Well, Ilandere, I think you should go back there and try being friends again with Keegan." Ilandere looked at A'ine and said "Okay, A'ine, I will try."

Ilandere went back to where Keegan was sitting. She wanted to run back to where A'ine was and not do this but she made herself tap Keegan on the shoulder. When she got his attention she said in almost a whisper, "I am sorry, Keegan. For pushing you and then running off like that," She took a deep breath and continued in a slightly louder voice, "If you do not want to be friends with me or even talk to me ever again I would understand." She clutched her hands hoping he would still talk to her and maybe even forgive her.

Stheno looked over at Duskrade as he glares at the students. Alexander noticed, too. Only Alexander was standing next to Duskrade so he could do something. "Now, my friend, are you trying to scare all the students before class even begins?"

Kala gets ready to tell Von that he didn't exactly answer her question when a voice comes over the mic. It was the headmaster. He was welcoming all the students and telling them how he'd like them all to be family. Okay I can do this. She looks behind the podium to see the teachers. One of them was glaring at everyone. I hope his not the animal class teacher..... but something tells me he is. Kala felt like a target for eyes standing next to Von, who was very tall, she grabbed Von's arm and pulled him over to the nearest pair of empty seats and sat down pulling him into the seat next to her.

"Meh," Keegan replied nonchalantly. "Not much really, I've basically just been wandering around the place for the last few years until I ended up here," he said, chewing on his lip out of nervous habit. "Not that that really matters anyway." He hoped Ilandere was getting the hint that he didn't want to continue talking about personal matters such as that.

Eniko felt bad for asking, not realising and possibly making Lily feel awkward. She noticed Lily staring at her shoes and new instantly she ha brought up a touchy subject. "Ohhh... I'm sorry I brought it up," Lily said shyly, embarrassed that she had stuffed up socially already. "I've never even seen a human before," she quietly murmured, trying to change the subject.

Tadi heaved a huge sigh of relief that Asher didn't seem to care about his human side of the family. He leaned back on his chair, dangling his feet in mid air. "Ahhh yeah," he responded to Asher's question. "He knew. It's kind of big thing to have halvies in sylph culture... apparently anyway. I don't really know much." Tadi stopped himself before he rambled all day about it. "Most humans aren't that bad though," he told Asher, trying to reassure him. He hoped that not everyone here was cautious about humans!
