It took me so long to make this." he said, pulling it from his sheath, revealing the blackish blue blade. He placed it across Jora's lap carefully.

He shifted his weight slightly, hoping that sea lions weren't a group that disregarded half breeds. "Ummm, I've never actually met another sylph. I lived with my mother my whole life and she's the humani-est human of them all!" He smiled at Asher, who didn't seem to be reacting badly... yet. "But hopefully I can learn to be a good sylph... whatever they do do," Tadi rushed to add, giving a small laugh. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Haizea managed to find her way to the mess hall in time, although she was still in an awful mood. She practically growled at anyone who looked at her the wrong way. Sulkily, she sat close to the door, so she could get a good view at all of her class mates, and a good means of escape if her brother tried attacking her.

Keegan's muscles tensed up. His fists clenched as an automatic reaction. That was certainly a question he didn't often get on first meeting! Keegan scanned the girl up and down, trying to decipher whether she was serious or just trying to upset him. She seemed pretty sincere though. "Oh... an accident... you know, griffins are awfully valuable on the human trade market," he said mildly bitterly. "How about you then?" he asked, thinking it was a fair trade

Corwin blushed as he heard the question. "N-no! I mean, we should be, uh... Careful." he said, clearing his throat. He heard his stomach growl. "It's okay... Yeah, let's go." he said. "Everyone's probably in there anyway." Corwin said, starting to frown. He never liked large crowds, or talking to a bunch of people at once.

Azura raised her eyebrows. "Is that so?" she asked. "I only like playing the violin." she said again, her voice low. She didn't mean to sound rude. "Yeah. Thanks. Kitsunes are cool too." Azura looked away from the girl. "Just.... Stuff." she said, somewhat bitterly. She didn't was the girl to know she was writing songs. "Sorry, but it's kinda... Private." she said, trying to smile. "That's just great. You're boring her, Azura."

Lily's face brightened. "Really? That's awesome! We'll be in the same class then!" she said with excitement. She cleared her throat. "Sorry, I was just jumpy there." she said, giggling. She looked at the crowd of people as well. "I know... Everyone's in their human form..." she shivered. "Lily, they are all monsters here. None of them are actually humans." she thought, still shaking.

Asher joined in his friend's laughter. "Okay then!" he said. Then he looked at Tadi with a confused look. "What do you mean by "huma-nest" of them all?" he asked, his neck tilting to the side.

Alderic elbowed Corwin, noticing his nervousness of going into the mess hall "It'll be okay just stick with me and nobody will go near ya." He smile very goofy and started walking down the hall hoping Corwin wouldn't start avoiding him, as so many other people his age already did...

Kaya sighed and rolled her eyes "Don't worry about it. I know exactly what wanting something to be private feels like. I'm the oldest of triplettes." she looks at the girl, thinks of something and snaps her fingers "Azura, do you want to play something with me during free-time?.... I mean like music." She inwardly rolls her eyes at herself You sounded just fabulous, Kaya! Just add a bit more crazy and she'll never talk to you again!

Jora looked at him, "Oh, you like to fly? I've never got to actually fly before." She remembers something on kid said to her when she flew for the first time Hey, Mutt! Does you're neck throw you off balance or does it work like a third wing? In the first time in a long time she somehow pushes it back to her mind and finish what she was going to say. "I like to paint scenery and buildings, you can probably imagine my reaction to this place." Hopefully Orion won't notice that pause. She thinks as she realizes how long it took her to say her last commit.

Ilandere shook her head, "No, well, not for long, at least." She really didn't want to explain who had taken care of her. It always brought back sad memories about her first big failure. She wondered about Keegan's short answer, He doesn't want to talk about it.... Or maybe he is not telling the whole truth. She decided to ask him about his home instead "So, Keegan, what home did you leave behind to come here?"

Kala couldn't believe it he was fallowing her, she slowed down a bit to let him catch up. "Oh, you did nothing wrong, I guess... it's just I hold family in the highest regards and it kind of upsets me when other's push that aside." She let out a pent up breath, "And when you wouldn't tell me about your family that kind of made me a little mad." She kept walking half hoping Von wouldn't fallow her, half hoping he would.

"A bow, huh? I've never tried one before. With my sister being a blacksmith and all. So I guess we both have a blacksmith in the family." he said, the small smile returning to his face. "Hey, I was wondering. Do you think you could teach me archery some time? I could teach you something in return, but I don't really know what." He gave her a sheepish grin. He wondered what she meant about her torment, but decided against asking about it. It must make her uncomfortable.


Ember felt incredibly overwhelmed by all the people. She tried to make herself as small as possible, and pulled out the small fantasy book she had stuffed in her pocket. She instantly relaxed when she started reading it. Soon she was able to block out most of the sound, and immerse herself in the book.''

Astrid thought for a moment. "Well... Maybe we could reprogram the speaker system, although that would be rather tricky. The only rule I have with my pranks, is that I don't want to hurt anyone."
