So, I've stumbled on this RP some time ago at the other fantasy game forum (Beast Keepers, someone?) and felt like 'ohmigod, I want to be in it, like now!', and I did as I thought. The problem was, after a half year I still had no reply or even another applications on the thread. That's why I decided to (steal) borrow the idea and plant it on this forum, with a few changes updates from me to adjust it to my imagination here.

So here's the original post by Pencil_Lines from Beast Keepers with my comments and updates written like that.


STORY BASICS:

The world is being drained of color, the sky, the ocean, the plants, the animals, the people, everything. The people are slowly losing their memory of specific colors, as well. Whatever source is taking the color from the world is unknown, although a small group of strange looking humans are being assembled to help restore the world's vividity. These people are average anatomicly, but as far as coloration goes, they are based on basic combinations and groupings of the color wheel. It has also been discovered that they have "super powers". These people are nicknamed "Values". The organization that looks after and hires Values for the research and slowing of the de-coloring process is Spectrum, so named for their presidnet who is the Spectrum Value. This base is where the story will begin.

GROUND RULES:

1- I really would prefer no cursing. I understand that it is a part of characterization, and I understand some people think they are just common words, but I just don't like to put up with it.
-as stated above, it may be a part of characterization, so if you really want to curse just star(st*r) part of it out, please. Also, there are words I won't consider curses, altough I've seen them starred out.Ugh, let's call them soft curses, ok? Examples may be "hell", "Holy...". Also,****** is a******, you don't have to use 'violation' or something like that, altough I'll be grateful for leaving "F**k" out :P

2- I also would like to throw out there that, and I do not intend to offend ANYONE by the wayologize if I do, I also have no tolerance for same sex relationships between characters. That is just my stand-point, I will not apologize for anything else regarding this subject.
okay, that sounded a little homophobic, but I'm going to keep that rule for the sake of everyone having fun together and not feeling awkward ar arguing about unnecessary (for RP) things.

3- Have an anchored sense of power, please. No crazy story limiting power or last-minute changes to powers in order to change a scenario in the story. Really the only powers I just can not accept are A: the inability to die, B: regeneration after death, C: the ability to kill with just a look, touch, sniff, or any other sense, or D: the ability to heal others without side effects. Obviously they would become woozy and weak. :P
In other words: no godmodding, please, also, don't kill other's characters without their permission. Oh, as to healing: it has to have some side effects, but they can be taken by the healing party, not the healed one, if you understand what I mean

(since the question arose, I'll post here my idea as to what Tinter is.
Tinters are normal people, whose color haven't been drained completely and thus save enough energy to eventually get their color back or even become a full value, eventually have powers of values, naturally restrained by their Pure black/Pure white side/ weakened by their grayness. I think it was created to give a chance to players who got late to take Values and didn't want to play normal people or Brownies

Pure Black or Pure White (NOTE- these are the people targeted as taking color from the world)
Since I kind of accepted it, there are the Pure ones that are positive, BUT: are taken by Lechubacabra&Coradrawa

Neutral (All shades of any Brown, including those tinted towards another hue):
Brownies(my idea)-are people who got power enough to be disguised from a grayscale, but too weak to be considered a Value. They show exceptional immunity to descoloring(power of at least four Pures is needed to initiate the process for them), therefore most of them working for Spectrum are field agents, working between normal people and preparing the ground for the Values during their missions. A lot of Pure ones that are hinted to be low in ranks(if there are any for them) target Brownies to get promoted, since they aren't as dangerous as Values. Spectrum funds a special training to Brownies for that specifical reason. Also, it is said that tinted Brownies have less immunity to decoloring, but a bigger chance to develop Values power than the Grey tinters.

I don't know, if there will be anyone interested in that, but if so, please refrain to two characters per person^^ (I have the feeling I'm repeating myself...)

The Base:

The place where story starts. Far from the normal cities or villages, set on a plateau with hard access, a giant stone castle is a perfect place to hide and train Values. All the supplies and half-products arrive from the outside, the only things created there are weapons, clothes and first-aid equipment. Due to high intensity of Values power, most of electrical devices go crazy there. Also, it is hard to maintain a time flow, since even hourglasses don't work correctly here.
Insides consist of canteen, classrooms, dorms, weapon room, library, principal office, tactic room, hospital and nursery. And a lot of corridors
classrooms: Either a normal classroom suited to learn normal subjects as math or history, or rooms where it is possible to train your value. Sports gym is divided into a normal and a battlefield part, where offensive skills as mastery of the weapon or value control is practised.

Canteen: Normal canteen, with tables and chairs. Breakfast and supper are served in a form of buffet, while dinners are usually eaten together, lunch is done by yourself.

Dorms: One wing of the castle, divided into a male and female part, consist of one- or two-person rooms. Each room is decorated and taken care of by its occupant.

Weapon room: Place, where weapon is hidden, unless needed. guns are still rare, but there are all types of blades, bows, blunt weapon, etc. Student Values doesn't have the access until they are training or are out to a mission.

Library:
It is said you'll find any book here, especially if it was written about Values, but there are normal books like adventure or fantasy, too. Well, they are EVERYWHERE, literally.

Principal's office: None of the Values has ever been there, but it is supposed to be Spectrum's(the Founder) office as well.

Tactical room: A room with a round table and maps in it, it's where Values come to report after their missions and when they are called to a new task.

Hospital and nursery: This is where you land after you get hurt or partially de-colored. Nursery gets school students and lightier wounded while hospital takes care of de-colored and seriously hurt ones.

STABLES are located outside the main complex and are used mostly by horses of the trusted farmers transporting the goods to Spectrum. Sometimes, if the Value or simply a member of Spectrum has a pet too big to ignore it and let it sleep in a room with its master, it is located here as well. The staff take turns to manage it and Values sometimes are assigned to work here for some time, be it to punish them, let them cool their head or just give them some difference from the routine life. Volunteering is also an option.

NPC's-you may write your conversations with them however you please, but don't make them too much out of character posted here:

Alba(age unknown, white eyes and hair, pale skin)- the only pure White that doesn't want to see the world blank. He works for Spectrum as the Restrainer. His ability allows him to make a device-like restraint that will block-partially or completely- someone's Value. If somebody can't control/isn't allowed to use his power, he must have met Alba at some point. He's pretty enigmatic, but his loyality is unquestionable. Most of the time he behaves like a nice uncle.

Miss Anna(28, warm-brown eyes, dark grey, long hair)-kind, nice-looking nurse with a crush on the main librarian. She is both school nurse and the head of the hospital. Just don't say bad thinghs about library or hospital, and you'll stay on friendly terms.

Yukio(30, brown hair and gray eyes)-main librarian and the one in charge of managing Value's missions. He's pretty smart-his IQ is said to be over 250- and throught that he can be a little full of himself, but he's overally nice, especially if you say something nice about the main nurse.

Akio-(29,gray hair and brown eyes) cousin of Yukio,his helper in the library and secretary of the Spectrum. He connects the Spectrum with the organisation...and the organisation with the rest of the world. He tries to convince his cousin to confess to Anna, as for now unsuccessfully.

Mr. Brown(38, brown eyes and hair)- P.E. and weapons(aside of the bows) mastery teacher. he's loud, but friendly, plays dumb but knows a lot.(reminds Armstrong from FMA)

Ms Feather(32, light gray eyes with a tint of blue, and graish blue hair)- Value offensive and bows mastery teacher. Is known as demanding, but at the same time understanding and patient teacher, and therefore often helps as the counselor.

Mistress of Canteen(age between 35-50, dominated by Grays and Brown tinters)- a group of women working in a canteen. Do NOT say that the soup was too salty...unless it was, but that won't happen.

Other: (For things such as weaknesses, allergies, pets, tendencies, family, anything we may need to know. divide that part, if you write A LOT (for example: Family: none, Pet: two rabbits, fears: spaghetti monster, etc)

HOW THEY GOT TO SPECTRUM: (This is important and saves A LOT of characterization time. The shorter, the better, though under some circumstances I understand you may need some length. Basicaly give a bit of a back story that ends with your character at, in, being lead to, being taken against their will to, etc. Spectrum.)

Abilities granted by coloring: Able to Heal others but usually makes them ill afterwards ( I.E puking for a bit )

Restraint: They force him to take a pill which drains some of his energy. So it usually ends up making him really tired and grumpy and sometimes he even ends up sick because his immune system crashes.

Appearence: Red has red eyes and dark black hair. He wears a red and white cap on his head.
He also wears a dark top with a red and white jacket over the top, he never does up the jacket. He also has dark coloured denim trousers.



Other: He's allergic to pollen...AKA has serious hay fever XD

HOW THEY GOT TO SPECTRUM: Red had been a traveling person. He would travel place to place and used to read up on colours.
The one day he was walking around and was knocked out and kidnapped by some people. These people where Spectrum.

Now let's have from Rainbow Bread with Rainbow Juneicorns <3

Character name: Midori

Age: 13 (behave like polite 16)

Gender: Female

"Value": Compliment-Red/green

Abilities granted by coloring: Midori is able to tell which plants and herbs are useful for curing people and is able to take on herself their wounds, but only until her endurance will allow without passing. Due to her red compliment she may control bloodflow and heat the temperature of almost everything to the point of burning it (or starting the fire).

Restraint: Partial, disables her ability to burn anything, but leaves healing and possibility to warm something (non-living existence) up to a certain, not dangerous degree.

Appearance:
(I know it doesn't look one bit as thirteen-years-old, but I couldn't find better fitting pic)
Dark-green long and a little weavy hair with only one strand of auburn color on the right, pale skin and Heterochromic eyes- one is normal green and the second is brownish-red. She doesn't like it, so she cover it with her fringe. Usually wears uniform-like dress(or skirt and shirt) with sleeved that can cover wounds and restraint

Others: She's deadly scared of plain white or plain dark spaces, due to her history, and have one small emerald pendant(brother's present) she treasures more than her life. Nobody knows why, but she's skilled sword user. She likes furry or feathery animals

How she got in the Spectrum: Orphaned by their parents, Midori lived with her elder brother, a skilled value - already hired but not living in Spectrum. When he discovers her compliment, he tries to escort her to the Spectrum, but they're ambushed on the snow-covered plain at nightfall. Her brother calls help from Spectrum and engages in fight to protect her but is deeply hurt. This causes Midori to lost control and back up from Spectrum is forced to drug her and bring to the main base. Since then she is in the school, waiting, then searching informations about her brother.

Abilities granted by coloring: Is able to control water in most of its forms. Also can partially control the temperature around himself and restore the color of blue parts of the world (water, sky, flowers, etc)

Restraint:None, since he's fully in control of his powers and is considered sensible.

Appearance: Light-blue eyes and a few shades darker, medium-long hair. Ususally wears sleeveless tunic and trousers in the same brown color.

Others: Lost elder brother of Midori, who raised her since he was ten, treasures her above everything. Is a skilled fighter, got hurt during his task to escort his sister to the spectrum almost year ago. Current situation is pretty unknown.

How he got into Spectrum: His parents sent him to Spectrum in fear of his power when he was four, just after Midori had been born. In three years period he was named a prodigy, due to his power control. He was accepted to live outside the Spectrum and, when his parents died, took care of Midori. Once he discovered her Value, he decided to escort her to and live back in Spectrum until she got the same permission as him, but due to the ambush, his current situation is unknown.

Value: Pure Black

Abilities: Has black tendrils of smoke, invisibility and can drain all colors

Appearance:
Notice: black eyes and hair

restraints: has none because he is powerful so they want him to use all his strength

Other: absolutely hates Pure white even though they are on the same side and doesn't want to drain all color but is forced to. has met alby but is confused about what to think since he is white but he is also on the values side.

How he got to spectrum: was born in there but never knew parents and relatives has no friends.
this means he has been in spectrum forever and always will be. he reacts rudely to other values but is willing to be friends since he is kind of on their side.

Abilities granted by coloring: She can levitate over things
Restraint: She wears metal gauntlets on her hands and a strange metal crown on her head that Spectrum believe stop her draining colour and stops her from hovering.

Appearence: She wears a white dress that has a slit towards the bottom to allow her to move more freely. Her hair is pure white and her eyes a slight grey. She wears white leggings that go up to her knees and white gloves that just go past her wrist, her gloves have fluffy bits on the end.
She also has a silver bell on black string which she wears all the time.
( only without fox ears and tail and imagine her wearing metal gauntlets and a weird metal crown )

Other: She's mute and writes on a notepad
HOW THEY GOT TO SPECTRUM: She was found in a orphanage and was taken by spectrum. She didn't really know what was going on and assumed she was being adopted. How wrong she was.

But, Can I ask why you two chose to make black and white chars while normal values haven't been taken yet? They were supposed to be main antagonists, and colors as the protagonists... -,-'
