Hello! This roleplay is a little different than most you'll find on the forums--it's more similar to a table-top roleplay or a computer RPG. In this RP, there is a Narrator--me-- who sets up a situation and you-- or rather, your character-- responds to it. I then build another situation based off that response, your character responds to that story, and so on.
The story you get is based off your reply. If you want a higher chance of something unexpected happening, leave your response more open-ended. If you want a more direct result, make your reply more complex. A warning, though: If you try to box the Narrator in, unexpected consequences may result.

Story
The story takes place in a town called Icarus. Icarus is an odd town--it is surrounded by a tall fence topped with barbed wire. There is a curfew at night, from 10 pm to 5 am. No one enforces this curfew, but anyone outside during this time disappears without a trace. Investigations have been made, but nothing has turned up. A lab complex stands at the north end of town, but it is unknown to the general residence what is studied there. All that is known is that, on the side of the building facing the town, there is an intricately detailed spray-painted image of a golden sun with an open eye peering out of the center. If could be the logo of the company, but the fact that it is spray-painted suggests otherwise. In all other respects, Icarus is a normal town. I will get more in-depth with places as we go along, but, for reference, there is a bar (Keep it PG-13. It's mostly meant as a gathering place.), a small library, and an even smaller school, among other things.

Alright. To business. As stated, I'm looking for three people (one per role) to participate in this roleplay (I will not have a character). I have a few requirements in who I'm looking for:
Please write in correct grammar and as if this were a passage in a book. This means: No chat speak, and no speaking in asterisks.
Ex. (Charactername) walked to the door and opened it, rather than (Charactername): *walked to the door and opened it*
Someone willing and able to actively participate. This will go along at about one or two posts per day, more if we're online at the same time. If you are overloaded with RPs already, it's wisest not to join. I understand writer's block (I may even have it too at some point), but if it's taking a while please just post something and we'll roll with it. I'll try to structure it so this hopefully doesn't happen.

A note before I start explaining the roles: Since this takes place in the same town, people's individual stories may intersect. That's okay. I'll ping the included players if this happens.

1. Newcomer to Icarus
Just finished school/college and moved to Icarus to start their life.

2. Resident
Has lived in Icarus all their life/a while and knows the ins and the outs of the town. May be married or unmarried, can not work at the lab. (Either gender, ages 25-42) Taken
3. Lab Worker ~Recommended for a more experienced roleplayer. Requires the ability to keep a secret.
Fairly self-explanatory, works at the lab. Can be married or unmarried BUT details about their job are secret and cannot be told. (Either gender, ages 29-43) Taken

Standard RP rules apply. You may not kill another person's character without permission, but you may kill NPCs(the people I play). But, be warned: the cops will likely come after you.

By stating that the lab role was for a more experienced roleplayer, I meant that it's a slightly more complicated role than the others to play. It's not more difficult, it just requires a bit more thought.

Other: She is a petty theif for fun but when caught always trys to make a break for it, she isn't the best theif though but people somehow easily ignore her. She also has a accsent which makes her say 'z' instead of 's' and says 'nay' and 'yee' instead of 'no' and 'yes'
Hobbies: Small amounts of stealing, making cakes and other doughy products
A few strengths: Sneaky, lies easily (could be good for keeping a secret)
A few weaknesses: Runs away a lot, scared of ghosts, lies easily (could be bad XD
