Alchemy: Can perform alchemy without an array; prefers to create weapons out of her surroundings, but will transmute her automail like Ed does if neccesary

Becoming a Chimera
At a young age, Krystal was kidnapped by an alchemist who experimented with human chimeras. Most of his projects were done on people he had kidnapped, or orphans he picked up off the streets. Krys was his first "successful" project. This transmutation combined Krystal with an eagle, giving her avian traits and causing her green eyes to change to a gold color. Deluded by his success, he presented the results of his work to the State, which resulted in him being promptly arrested and executed - according to official documents, that is. In reality, he was secretly commissioned by the State to create more human chimeras.
Somehow, Krys was returned home instead of being sent to a lab like the other chimeras. Most likely it was because she was "almost completely human" compared to the others. The scientists were not comfortable working with a subject who could communicate effectively and comprehend everything they did, especially one that looked like an innocent little girl.
In all, she was missing for 10 months before being returned to Resembool.
Relationships
Krys is very protective of Ed and Al, which of course makes Ed feel a bit guilty as he's the oldest, so he feels he should be protecting her. She tends to be more levelheaded than Ed, often being the voice of reason.
She was too young to remember Hohenheim when he left, so while she understands Ed's anger toward him, she herself doesn't harbor those feelings.
She has a different kind of bond with Winry than Ed or Al. Krys sees her more as a sister than anything, and she tends to go behind her brothers' backs when it comes to what they don't tell Winry.
She has a deep respect for Colonel Mustang, and after the Promised Day, she decides to remain with the military and work under him.
