An oil painting? That is some mighty high praise. Many thanks!

And that's quite a interesting thing to say to a monochromatic being, but I'll take it xP

Sonrisa's Fifth Anniversary Contests - 19/4/22
For Sonrisa

It's Adelaide!

Tried a different style of lineart and painting - lineart turned out alright, and painting went decently, although the colours and whatnot still need work. Shading is still an issue :(

I'll keep trying!

I love the colors on this one! I'm perplexed at the fact that it seems you're not entirely happy with them, I feel the pinks and subtle blues and whites work so well together ahh
You painted the texture on the shirt very well! very visually pleasing
I love your artstyle ;v;

Thank you for your kind words ^-^

I guess it's the contrast that bothers me. There isn't a lot of variation in shades so it looks kind of flat, despite the different colours, and ofc the shadows themselves don't stand out enough. But that's ok! I will continue to practice and improve :>

2022 Easter Event - Create an Easter Egg (Digital) - 1/5/22

Me, begging: please, allow me a consistent colouring style, at least within a single drawing

Also me: no

Anyway, this one was interesting. Not my best work - I nearly deleted the whole thing a couple times, but it did get marginally better as I started adding colours and effects. The colours are what I'm pretty happy about this time, seeing as I tried a new way to create iridescence and that worked out, and I also spent a lot of time on the hair to make it look decent with the blocky colouring. Not that anyone can see it anymore lol. Aggh I still can't draw fur. How do people draw fur?

Composition? Who's that?

The contrast is terrible in this piece, as usual. I can only see details when my screen brightness is at max so yeahhhhh not very good job ehe

Also, background struggles T-T

Your egg is super pretty! :D

For fur, something I found semi-recently is the mixer brush in photoshop. Absolute godsend for digital painting in general, works well for fur too. Don't know how well this would work with your style, but this is how I do it:

Something else that might help is thinking of it as short hair clumps, and rendering it in about the same way as human hair.

Oh my! Thank you! This is very helpful indeed.

I'll try it out some time ^-^

I love your art by the way - super colourful, detailed, and especially the way you do fur. I was looking through the Easter egg submissions in past years and yours are amazing!

Commission - For Hwaseong

Character: Lie

Imagine knowing how to draw lightning. Couldn't be me lol

Pose feels a bit stiff, and the hem of the qipao looks a bit weird. Perspective warp. Otherwise, not much more to say! I feel like the proportions this time around were actually decent :D

The pose seems alright (if not a bit stiff) but the proportions, noooooooo. Why can't I anatomy properly T-T

Wings are cool though.
