i thought of another thing
a woman makes a deal with a god/demon/spirit of some sort in order to have a child with her husband, and in exchange the thing gets the child on their birthday (whichever one you choose). the thing gifts the child with the ability to see when people will die (whether it be a timer or simply seeing the way they die when ever they are a certain amount of time from dying) that activates on their birthday. then the story follows the unaware child as they slowly succumb to the "madness" until the thing finally claims them
yeah i've got way too much time on my hands ^^;
