I'll definitely play with this and get an idea of what I'll be doing with the group I have. I have some I know will be split but others I'm not 100% sure on.

I'm rather worried about themed ones
... if JUST because of how these new genes and colors work

For this pet:

https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/regen_preview.php?pet_id=5604877

Valentine lace pops up as a valid trait. Not that I'm complaining, but is that supposed to happen? :P

Missing G2

=======================
From 5V1C to "I cannot regen anything for G2 and will become 5 trait"
https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=5910945

Other Nytes that will be losing G2

(Pretty sure this list would go into the hundreds .__. )

**
Found some without any hiddens to hopefully narrow things down?

Not sure what the difference is, as other Nytes with the same genes ARE able to pick any G2 to make up for the loss. Such as these two nytes which are 5V1C like the first one I noticed.

Edit: these are now broken too

Red-Tailed Cockatoo maybe..? *digs around* Nope, found some with pure Zebra Finch. Same thing. One can regen G2, one loses G2.

Going to start throwing them all together in stables:
https://www.sylestia.com/stables/?stable=164790

=======================

Genes are identical 3-carry; only difference is mutations.
One loses G3; the other keeps G3.
Edit: Both now lose g3

Is 1V2C, but one of the carries becomes recessive to the visible; only able to regen one of the two g1 traits so pet will become 1V1C or 2C depending on which trait is lost. Sooo... loses g2.

one of your traits must've had a letter that is now assigned to val

edit: yep. DD g3 is leaf veins on old, val lace on new

Right, but valentine lace, being a restricted trait, shouldn't show up as an available regen trait. At least that was the case for the past revamps.

week of love is coming up, and val lace is naturally generatable during it.

*tilts head* but that shouldn't apply to a revamp species. i thought, if so, it was only possible to do so with a sylesti that comes from an essence

the regenerator is an altered generator, so it should work too.

it's never worked like that in any other revamp though. even with the puffs, where they were fully regennable, they could not have valentine lace unless the sylesti had it pre-revamp. the same went for the lunes and venes and likely the lups as well. it's probably a bug on krin's end, because valentine lace and other restricted traits have never ever been able to be given to a regennable sylesti unless it already had valentine lace

edit: the altered generator is because of hidden traits, not because of the week of love. with respect and zero offense meant, if you read the first post, you'd know that :P

also, looking at the most recent update from krin, there is the chance of oddities. i am disagreeing with you because if tigress' nyte can regen valentine lace, then by your logic, every single nyte should be able to have valentine lace because of WoL. the logical conclusion i come to is that either it has something to do with that nyte's specific heritage, or it's a bug, because not all nytes have the capability to regen valentine lace
