"I'm willing to take it." Sai says with a small shrug. "It seems the power went out, so if any of the traps need electricity to cause them to work, I doubt they'll pop up. The rest would still be active." He is already standing beside the artifact anyways so reaching in and grabbing it shouldn't be a problem unless there's a trap.
(I believe you can look for a word or phrase inside the google document as well that can bring it up for you if you can't remember the title...)

"It's definitely trapped, I think, but we can't stand here all night, making plans that probably won't even work," Lilith points out. "If we wait here for too long, we won't do anything except waste time and probably get ourselves caught - whoever runs this place is definitely going to find us sooner or later - so we'll have to take the artifact soon whether or not we end up figuring it out. I'm still down to just grab it and run, like I have been for the entire night, but I'll leave my fate up to you guys, for now at least - planning isn't and has never really been my strong suit."

Ace's voice crackles, as if there is interference on the line.

(sorry for the slow updates. been a bit rough lately, but I don't want to leave y'all hanging - not when we're so close! I did end up finding the document, but it's missing several weeks' worth of content. so. I'll hopefully get that filled in over april break.)

Sai says what Lilith said sarcastically before he ends it in a softer and friendlier way as he takes Lark's advise and takes the artifact, bracing himself for any alarms, even though any sudden movement or sound would probably send him reeling anyways.

The artifact's glow fades in Sai's hands. No alarms or traps go off, but the air becomes cold.

The artifact houses an ancient spirit-y presence. In archaeological circles, the spirit is referred to as the Son - and the ancient civilization that owned this artifact revered him as a god. If you do happen to meet The Son... don't anger him. You know, eh, save your soul? From eternal damnation? Sorry, should've told you about that. Hehe. Any las- er. Any words?

"Yeah. Next time i go on a mystery mission, I'm sending my nerd of a housemate." Lio grimaces. "Let's bail, yeah? Good deed of the day done, saved a spirit from being auctioned. Let's skidaddle."

The group can run or attempt to bargain with the spirit.
