We solemnly swear we're up to Winter Fest fun. :)


Theme: Winter in Sylestia
Interpret this as you wish so long as it clearly represents Sylestia.


Contest Deadline: Changed to 11:59pm on Jan 24th.

Art may be submitted to the thread anytime before the end of the contest. We won't be commenting on or judging any artwork prior to the deadline.
Winners to be announced: Tentatively January 26th.

Aspects Being Looked At: We're very interested in seeing the creativity the community of Sylestia can express. So Creativity and Effort are going to be important elements in how we pick the winners. It won't just come down to a particular skill. Show us what you have, everyone! :)


Rules:
** Future contest notes do not apply to the current contest in their requirements.
1) All art must be created solely by the one entering the contest. -- Future contest note: This means it must be *your* art. No site art, clipart, color sheets etc allowed.

2) Progress must be documented through 2+ photos that must contain your username and the date alongside your artwork within the photo. (Digital art works a little differently, but same basic idea. You can just put your name and the date on the images as you progress.) -- Future contest note: Need at least 5 progression shots w/ name. Date appreciated. The more progression shots given, the more we're able to see the effort/details/etc involved.

3) Artwork can be done in any visual medium that can be shown on Sylestia. (And documented as listed in rule 2.) This can include drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, digital art, etc. -- future contest note: If something like a diorama is done, it must be changed to the point it's clearly sylestia related. Example: If you use a Christmas deer figure, if must be transformed enough to make us think Faelora, not reindeer. This is the only way using existing items in works is allowed.

4) All artwork must be appropriate for Sylestia. (All site rules must be followed.)

5) All artwork must fit the theme. -- future contest note: This means it must be winter related somehow. It can be subtle, but if subtle then letting us know of the relation is a good thing or we might miss it.

6) Pinging us with submissions isn't necessary (but it won't get you disqualified if you do ping). We promise we'll look through everything when the deadline is reached. :)

7) All artwork must be unique to this contest. No submissions to any other contests, official or otherwise, will be accepted. -- Future contest note: That means it's created for this contest during the time we're accepting submissions.

8) One entry per person. -- future contest note: This means if you post an entry, then, for whatever reason change it, you should place the new entry in place of your old entry. Multiple submissions will count as multiple entries whether you want one of them to count or not.

9) Failure to follow any of these rules will result in your entry being disqualified when we go through the submissions. It is up to the creators to ensure their submissions follow the rules.

* Rules and times are subject to change if problems are encountered, clarification is needed, etc.

Note 1/25: Due to the late selection process, we will be giving an expedient agent out for each of the top 3 winners to use on their chosen cata to ensure it is done on time.

Notes on Prizes:
1. Prizes may be altered, but only to be added to in value not detracted from.
2. Honorable Mentions: An honorable mention category of prizes may be added if there are enough entries.
3. Participation Prizes: May be coming. This hasn't been decided upon yet.

Everyone will be listed in order of entry, and will have their post linked. Don't worry if the list is not utd, it will get there! XD (If you see I somehow missed your entry, please let me know but I will be going through the thread, once the contest is over, to ensure I get everyone.)

Be advised: We will not contact you if your entry doesn't follow the rules. This is up to you to ensure, and we will not be looking over entries until after the deadline is reached. If your entry doesn't follow the established rules, it will be disqualified from all prize availabilities. (This includes if we do honorable mention/participation prizes as well.) As stated in the original post, the deadline is to be announced. Yes, the artwork may be done in any visual medium so on paper is fine. Please read the original post before asking any questions.
