Hello! Welcome to Sylestia!

The Starter Pet is just basically your dream 2-visible pet! What traits you chose won't really affect the game in any way. Just choose whatever you think is pretty and go from there!

Here's my starter, Autumn!

I don't recommend using the random color thing, it makes muddy/"dishwater" pets usually

Literally the only thing that your starter will affect is the gender and species of your Starter Catch (the pet they give you to train you how to capture wild Sylesties!) This pet will always be the same species and opposite gender of your Starter Pet (think if it as their mate)

Here's mine, Remus:

Remember to pick colors and traits you like for your starter, they're probably going to be the pet you fight with for a long time!

can anyone explain the importance of selecting genes/mutations then?
i am still not understanding. i have three drop down boxes each!
the mutations do seem to change the icon of the preview of my starter pet, but the genes show no change at all. i am simply not comfortable picking "leopard" not knowing what it will do later? x3?

paint, socks, leopard, abstract, lucky runes, these are all options with no previews?
that's insane!!

Genes are markings on your pet. For example, on Autumn, she has Royalty (Gene Slot Two). Mutations are, well, mutations! Autumn has Feathered Wings (Stripes) (Mutation Slot Three)

The pictures of the sylesties on the sides of the Generator are what your pet is going to look like!

Remus is a wild sylesti, so his colors are random but those colors would be silmilar to what would happen with the random color generator

i understand, but there's no previews. the pets on the side of the screen do not change.
when i hit "leopard", there is no leopard on the side of the screen on the pets.
it does not matter if i toggle carried/visible, whatever that means

just an insanely complex starter. i don't like it. i don't want to continue the site anymore.
sorry, just responding to you since you took the time to assist.

EC - Eye Color
C1 - Color One (the Colors will affect different parts of the body depending on your species)
C2 - Color Two
C3 - Color Three

G1 - Gene 1 (changes the colors of the Genes you selected, if any. Sometimes these colors show up in the details of a mutation as well, like gems or flowers on a mutation)
G2 - Gene 2
G3 - Gene 3

M1, 2, and 3: mutation colors, for those slots
